Having represented ECU at State, National and International level competitions, I know how fun it is to take advantage of the University sporting opportunities that exist. ORIENTEERING Australian University Championship – Orienteering • Date: 6-9 April (Easter) • Location: Stanthorpe QLD • Organiser: Orienteering Australia • Cost: email recofficer@ecu.edu.au • Held in conjunction with Orienteering Australia National Championships Held as part of the Australian three-day orienteering championships, the 2012 Australian University Championship (AUC) Orienteering will be held in Stanthorpe, QLD. Stanthorpe lies at the heart of the Granite Belt, 220km south-west of Brisbane on the New England Highway. Significant National Parks are nearby including Girraween, Sundown, Bald Rock and Boonoo Boonoo.

With social events to be held in conjunction with the 2012 Northern University Games, the Championship is offering the full University Games experience for avid surfers to take on the best in the country.

DISTANCE RUNNING Australian University Championship – Distance Running (marathon, half marathon, 9km) • Date: 16 September • Location: Sydney, NSW • Organiser: Sydney Running Festival • Cost: email recofficer@ecu.edu.au • Held as a category within the Sydney Running Festival The 2012 Australian University Championship Distance Running will be held as part of the Sydney Running Festival on Sunday 16 September. University championship categories include marathon, half marathon and 9km bridge run. Run one of the world's most scenic marathon courses, taking in some of Sydney's most spectacular and historic landmarks including the Harbour Bridge and Opera House.
