Union Street Interior Design
“Timber House is the first mass-timber condominium in the New York region. The six-story, fourteen-unit building comprises glue-laminated timber columns, beams and floorplates.” —Mesh Architecture
In 2022, while apprenticing under Brooklyn based interior designer, Erin Roberts, a tenant contacted us to design her apartment.
First, we meet on-site with the client to gather inspiration and understand their tastes and needs. We then take detailed photographs of the space for reference.
We use a laser tool to measure and draft floor plan and elevation drawings. From these, we construct the SketchUp model and we begin creating design options.
We present renderings to our client and revise the designs based on their feedback. When we arrive at a satisfactory plan we begin to source furniture, hire contractors as needed, and select finishes. We prepare a purchase order and install the pieces as they arrive.
Sketchbook Selections
I have always doodled. In recent years I have consolidated it into a sketchbook. When I pore over the pages it is a means of keeping in touch with who I have been.
