We are living in a world of rapid technological advancements. Via the internet, ideas are now shared and spread quicker than ever before, allowing real time global communication and accelerated technological development. These advancements are clearly observable in recent technologies such as AI, medicine and material sciences, with new breakthroughs constantly being made all around the world.
Despite industries such as textile manufacturing having embraced automated processes since the 19th century, much of the construction industry today still relies on the same techniques that have been used for decades. The industry is largely outdated and fails to make use of automation or new digital methods on a widespread basis. In parallel to this, we are also faced by a devastating rate of climate breakdown, fuelled by the burning of fossil fuels.
