This report evaluated DFID’s promises and approach to meeting the education MDGs and set out five actions for DfID to take to better realise its commitment to achieving universal primary education by 2015, including:
- Tripling aid disbursements; Ensuring greater stability in aid flows to education; Increasing investment in those countries furthest from achieving the education MDGs; Ensuring that the development and annual review of national education policies effectively addresses issues of quality, equity and inclusion; and Engage more with the macro-economic context in partner countries to ensure that the delivery of quality education is not impeded by macroeconomic constraints.
In response to the report and associated lobbying a number of these recommendations were implemented by DfID.
