Editor’s Note

Mallets & Mansions was born alongside the Third Edition of the Women’s Polo Cup, an event we proudly celebrate every March in Casa de Campo in honor of Women’s Month. This magazine is a dream come true as it allows me to bring together and share all the passions that define me: polo, which is deeply rooted in my Argentine heritage and horses have been an important part of my life since childhood; luxury real estate, a field in which I have built my career over the past 25 years, advising buyers and investors in Miami and Casa de Campo; and my passion for art, culture, and fashion.

From the moment I first visited Casa de Campo over a decade ago, I fell in love with its beauty, elegance, and sense of community. What started as a dream of owning a home and spending vacations here with my family evolved into something much greater. Life had a plan for me, and five years ago, I made Casa de Campo my permanent home. This extraordinary place has given me far more than I ever expected—friendships, opportunities, and a deep sense of belonging.

Beyond its stunning landscapes and world-class amenities, what truly makes Casa de Campo special is its people. I have been embraced by the warmth, generosity, and passion of the Dominican community, and I am endlessly inspired by their energy, resilience, and love for life. The Dominican Republic has welcomed me with open arms, and through this magazine, I want to give back by celebrating everything that makes this place exceptional.

Mallets & Mansions is more than a publication; it is a tribute to a lifestyle that blends equestrian tradition, luxury, and culture in a way that is unmatched anywhere in the world. Through these pages, I invite you to explore the world of polo, high-end real estate, fashion, and the vibrant artistic scene that flourishes in this remarkable destination. Whether you are a visitor discovering Casa de Campo for the first time or a longtime resident, I hope this magazine provides you with inspiration, valuable insights, and a deeper connection to the unique world we are privileged to be a part of.

I am beyond grateful for everyone who has supported me in this journey—those who believed in my vision for The Ladies Polo Cup, those who have trusted me with their real estate dreams, and now, those who will join me in making Mallets & Mansions a cornerstone of luxury, polo, and lifestyle in Casa de Campo and the world.

I want to thank with all my heart the executives of Casa de Campo, especially Fernando Arata, Director of the Equestrian Center, and my husband Leo Matos, as well as my children, for their patience, unconditional support, and for always being by my side.

This is just the beginning, and I cannot wait to share this adventure with you.

Welcome to Mallets & Mansions!

The Ladies Polo Cup Empowering Women

Through Polo and Community Connection

The Ladies Polo Cup is back for its Third Edition, celebrating the spirit of women in polo while attracting polo enthusiasts, celebrities, and socialites. This premier event in the Dominican Republic promises an unforgettable experience, combining thrilling polo matches with high-end entertainment, fashion, and networking opportunities.

Scheduled to take place in Casa de Campo on March 22nd, 2025, this exclusive exhibition is open to Casa de Campo residents and guests, free of charge. The event will kick off promptly at 4 PM at the main polo fields next to The Dude Ranch and will conclude around 6 PM with an award ceremony, followed by live music and an Argentinean barbecue sponsored by Higueral.

The Ladies Polo Cup is proudly sponsored by BANRESERVAS, with Deyanira Pappaterra, Vice President of Tourism Business, playing an instrumental role in this vision from the very beginning. Additionally, The Ladies Polo Cup appreciates team sponsors Baglietto, T-Pack, American Express, and Mercedes-Benz for their continued support over the years.

Carolina Rainer, the rainmaker reflects, “The Ladies Polo Cup was born out of a need I saw when my friends visited Casa de Campo and expressed a deep desire to play polo. During their visit, they asked if they could join a game, and that’s when we realized there was no female polo tournament here. This simple but significant realization sparked an idea in my heart—a dream to create an event that would not only showcase the excitement and beauty of polo but also inspire more women to get involved in the sport. For me, polo is not just about the game; it’s about a connection to my roots in Argentina, where I

was born and raised, and to my childhood memories of spending summers horseback riding.”

With the invaluable support and guidance of key figures in the polo community, including Patricia Panzarasa, the visionary creator of the Circuito de Polo Femenino Argentino, and Fernando Arata, the dedicated Director of the Equestrian Center, Carolina embarked on a remarkable journey to establish a powerful female polo movement in Casa de Campo. Together, they envisioned a vibrant community where women could not only excel in the sport but also find support and empowerment through initiatives like the Madres Maravilla program. This collaboration seamlessly aligned their shared passion for polo with a profound commitment to uplifting women in the community.

At the heart of the Ladies Polo Cup lies a mission that extends far beyond the polo field. In partnership with Madres Maravilla, a program dedicated to empowering vulnerable women in the community, Carolina emphasizes, “Our commitment goes beyond the thrill of the game; we are driven by a profound purpose. Partnering with Madres Maravilla allows us to channel our collective enthusiasm for polo into a force for positive change.”

The event is expected to attract over 1,000 attendees, all coming together to celebrate women in sports while supporting the La Romana community. This year, Carolina invites attendees to bring along milk or any food items to benefit the Patronato Benéfico Oriental (PBO) program, which aids children in need.

Watching the event grow year after year, with the support of so many passionate individuals, has been an inspiring testament to the power of sport to unite us all. With every edition, the Ladies Polo Cup is not just about celebrating polo; it’s about creating a community—one where women support each other, where the love for the sport is shared, and where they continue to make a lasting impact on those in need.

As the event continues to grow, Carolina is excited to plan a second event in September 2025. This decision reflects the enthusiasm of sponsors, polo players, and attendees who are eager for more opportunities like this throughout the year.

Carolina’s ultimate goal is to establish Casa de Campo as a premier destination for polo while giving back to the La Romana community.

For the residents and guests in Casa de Campo, the Ladies Polo Cup represents a unique opportunity to experience the thrill of polo while making a meaningful impact in the community.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM 2024

The Ladies Polo Cup is a celebration of women in sports and beyond, uniting supporters, sponsors, and the vibrant Casa de Campo community. With over 1,000 attendees, the event continues to grow in impact and significance.

We were honored to welcome Argentine Ambassador Sandra Winkler and Italian Ambassador Stefano Queirolo Palmas, who joined us in supporting this meaningful cause.

The day culminated in a spectacular closing, with Higüeral hosting a traditional Argentine barbecue, offering guests an authentic and flavorful experience. Meanwhile, Artisan provided an exclusive, intimate setting for our VIP guests, adding a touch of elegance to the evening.

A highlight of the event was the much-anticipated One Bike auction, where guests competed to win a premium bicycle. We can’t wait to see who will take home this coveted prize at our next edition!

Earlier in the day, Veuve Clicquot set the perfect scene with an afternoon of champagne, music, and celebration. Guests enjoyed endless bubbles and a lively DJ set at the Mercedes-Benz booth, creating an unforgettable atmosphere.

Our dedicated sponsors continue to play a crucial role in making this event a success. T-Pack, now in its third consecutive year of support, and American Express, a

proud partner since the very first Ladies Polo Cup, have been instrumental in elevating this experience year after year.

We were also honored by the presence of Casa de Campo Directors Fabriccio Schettini, Jason Kycek, and Leo Matos, as well as Dr. José Rafael López, a highly respected and admired leader in the community. A special thank you to our referee, Julio López, and Fernando “Rulo” Arata, our esteemed Director of Polo, for making this the most fun and exciting event of the year.

Changing Lives One Mother at a Time

The Heart of Madres Maravilla

Patronato Benéfico Oriental, Inc. (PBO): A Legacy of Empowerment and Sustainable Development

Founded in 1976, Patronato Benéfico Oriental, Inc. (PBO) has been essential for social development in La Romana, Dominican Republic for nearly five decades. Established with a vision to uplift vulnerable communities, the organization has dedicated itself to providing education, healthcare, vocational training, and social services to those in need.

Over the years, it has evolved into one of the country’s most impactful non-profits, continuously adapting its programs to create sustainable, long-term change. With an unwavering commitment to development, PBO has worked alongside individuals, families, and entire communities to foster economic independence and improved quality of life. Its approach goes beyond immediate assistance, focusing instead on creating self-sustaining social business models that generate long-term solutions. By documenting and refining its methodologies, the organization has successfully established replicable models that can be adapted and expanded in various social and economic contexts.

The Madres Maravilla 2.0 program by PBO

Is an empowerment initiative aimed at transforming the lives of women and mothers in vulnerable communities through entrepreneurship, education, and personal development. Launched in 2021 in response to the economic crisis caused by the pandemic, the program provides single mothers with the tools to reinvent themselves and generate a dignified income for their families. With the support of events like the Ladies Polo Cup, workshops on skills, self-esteem, mental health, and entrepreneurship have benefited over 184 women.

The creation of the PBO Community Transformation Center in Villa Hermosa further expands the program’s impact, offering safe spaces for education, professional development, and the well-being of women and children. These programs not only promote economic independence but also foster gender equality and create opportunities for a life free from violence and discrimination. The program’s success is directly linked to events like the Ladies Polo Cup.

Alessandra Avanzini, Development Coordinator, affirms:

“Thanks to the contributions from the Ladies Polo Cup, we’ve been able to support empowerment programs for the women of Villa Hermosa, where 35% of our students from the Hogar del Niño come from. This area has the highest population density in the country (758 inhabitants per km²), the highest unemployment rate, and a 96% poverty rate, which leads to increased crime, gender violence, and a high rate of teenage pregnancies. The lack of basic services, such as education, nutrition, healthcare, employment, and social services, has contributed to the area’s poverty.”

To address these challenges, PBO began developing the PBO Community Transformation Village, a space designed to empower the community from within. The center will feature a workspace, a health center, a library, a makerspace, and workshop areas. It will serve as a safe haven for children and young people to study and work, while women will have access to empowerment and entrepreneurship workshops.

The workshops and activities took place at the PBO-Villa Hermosa Community Transformation Village as well as in classrooms provided by local schools. Topics covered included:

• Strengths and weaknesses in family bonds

• Child conflicts and abuse

• Trust and values

• Domestic violence

• Self-esteem and mental health within the family

• Emotional management in the workplace

Additionally, the program has been intervening with young girls to raise awareness of their rights and potential from an early age. Workshops for girls and adolescents have seen an average of 15 participants, aged between 7 and 13 years old, attending each session, says Avanzini.

The Ladies Polo Cup & Madres Maravilla: Empowering Women On and Off the Field

The Ladies Polo Cup is proud to support this cause for the third consecutive year and expresses heartfelt thanks to all the sponsors and the Casa de Campo community for allowing us to make a meaningful difference. For us it is truly an honor to contribute to the well-being of women and the La Romana community.

By aligning the Ladies Polo Cup with Madres Maravilla, the event transforms into more than just a sporting spectacle—it becomes a force for social change. The passion and camaraderie displayed on the polo field extend into real-life impact, helping these women gain the tools they need to rebuild their futures.

By celebrating women in polo and supporting Madres Maravilla, the Ladies Polo Cup continues to redefine what it means to blend sport, philanthropy, and purpose— proving that true victory is measured not just in goals scored, but in lives changed.

Testimonials

“I’m Katy Morales, and after the pandemic, I didn’t return to work at any company. However, I knew how to crochet and hadn’t considered it as a potential source of income until the Madres Maravilla 2.0 program. Now I’m producing and selling through bazaars and orders from people who got to know us through these opportunities.“

“My name is Lucecita Severino, and in the workshops, I learned how to make punches: I made it for my family’s Christmas dinner. I also learned how to make mask and glasses holders, and with that, I started my own business and sold a good amount. The Madres Maravilla group is very important because we come together to learn from each other and share unique moments.”

Women’s Polo Circuit Driving The Growth Of Women’s Polo

Since 2008

The Women’s Polo Circuit, created by Patricia Panzarasa in 2008, has been fundamental in the development and growth of women’s polo, providing players of various levels with a platform to compete, connect, and strengthen the presence of women in this sport. Patricia has been one of the most important persons in the creation of the Ladies Polo Cup, and without her initial support and guidance, the event would not have been possible. From the very first edition, she has accompanied me every step of the way, guiding me to promote women’s polo in the Dominican Republic—not only by bringing players from Argentina but also by assisting with every aspect of making this dream come true. The Ladies Polo Cup has always been connected to a greater purpose, a philanthropic goal, and everything fell perfectly into place.

Let’s talk about your trajectory in polo. How did you get started in this sport?

PP: Since I was a girl, I always had horses, but I began playing polo as an adult when I bought a small property at a polo club. It was love at first sight. I started in December, and by March, I had three horses and was heading to a tournament in Paris.

How is women’s polo experienced in Argentina, a country with such a rich tradition in this sport?

PP: Today, women’s polo is recognized with almost no differences compared to men’s polo. It’s all about continuing to gain experience. For the women who play, it defines their lives—ranging from amateurs organizing their practice schedules around family commitments to professionals who, fortunately, are numerous and travel the world playing alongside patrons in various tournaments.

How many women’s polo tournaments are held each year?

PP: In Argentina, I honestly couldn’t say how many there are now—and that’s the best news! There are likely around eight tournaments in the low season and about twenty in the high season across different handicaps.

Do you think it was difficult for women to carve out a space in the world of polo, or was it a natural progression?

PP: I think it was a mix. There have always been women playing polo—sisters, cousins, girlfriends, wives—but what was lacking was recognition and organization.

Women needed to come together and not depend on someone else’s horses to play. I believe that motivation came from each woman who wanted to participate, and the second step was to present the request for an independent handicap to the Argentine Polo Association. It took a year, but we always approached it positively and maintained open dialogue.

Tell us about the Women’s Polo Circuit: how did it come about and what is its purpose?

PP: As I mentioned earlier, I started playing as an adult and quickly noticed that there were no tournaments “like the men’s.” With my background in marketing, I understood that organizing tournaments required funding, so I needed sponsors. Initially, the first major companies that supported me did so out of friendship; it wasn’t easy to sell something people didn’t know existed. However, they trusted me, and with that initial support, I built a foundation to continue. My goal has always been to raise the flag for women’s polo and ensure that every club has its own tournament.

What has been the impact of the circuit on the evolution of women’s polo?

PP: The impact has always been positive and filled with gratitude. New tournaments have engaged new players and clubs, attracted more sponsors, and enhanced the overall level of play. This increase in interest has drawn patrons and led to better organizations and improved horses—each aspect contributes to growth. I have received messages from all over Argentina asking where they could play and who could teach them; the beginning was incredibly exciting.

What players will participate in the Ladies Polo Cup 2025?

PP: This year, we are excited to have a fantastic lineup of participants, including Clelia Crespo, Malena Sicilia Colombo, Guillermina Suffern, and Verónica Posse, who have all previously participated in the event. Additionally, we look forward to welcoming even more renowned players, further elevating the international presence of the tournament.

Daughters

Of A Legendary Polo Player

The daughters of the legendary player and champion of the Palermo Open, as well as the most successful coach of the La Dolfina team, Milo Fernández Araujo, are two mega stars of world polo. We had the opportunity to interview both Candela and Milagros Fernández Araujo for Mallets & Mansions magazine, where they share their experiences, journey, and passion for the sport that has shaped their lives and elevated Argentina’s name to the top of international polo. A unique interview that captures the spirit and determination of two major figures in global polo.

How did you start playing polo, and what inspired you to continue in this sport?

Mila: I started playing in the countryside with my dad when I was very young—I don’t even remember my exact age, but we’ve been on horses since birth. I think my dad and Cande (my younger sister) have always been my inspiration to keep playing.

Cande: I was born among horses. My dad, Milo Fernández Araujo, played professionally, and I always admired him. My mom is a veterinarian and also played with her family. Since I was little, I’ve been passionate about this sport and horses. I’ve always loved the countryside, being there, and playing on weekends.

What are the biggest challenges you’ve faced as a woman in a traditionally male-dominated sport?

Mila: My biggest challenge was understanding that a woman’s strength would never be the same as a man’s and not getting frustrated about it. But I’ve always been lucky to be surrounded by men—family and friends— who have always supported me. I’ve never had a bad experience with sexism.

Cande: Challenges continue to exist! But honestly, my dad never cared and loved that we played. Maybe because he only had daughters, who knows? And my mom was a huge supporter of all this, making sure he got involved with us.

What does it mean to you to represent Argentina in polo at an international level?

Mila: Representing Argentina is always an honor—I love my country.

Candelaria Fernández Araujo
Milagros Fernández Araujo

Cande: The times I played for Argentina were really special. Wearing our national colors is a unique feeling.

What has been your most memorable match and why?

Mila: Without a doubt, the first two finals of the Women’s Open we played. They were intense matches, and luckily, we won the first two titles against all the top professionals of the time.

Cande: Last year was a fantastic year for me in sports! The 2024 Open final was a major achievement with a lot of effort behind it. But I’ve had many moments I loved throughout my career—winning with my sister Milagros is definitely among them.

How do you prepare mentally and physically for the polo season?

Mila: Physically, I always try to stay in the best shape possible. Mentally, that’s what I struggle with the most, but I’ve been working on it a lot, so I think I’m doing really well!

Cande: Physically, I train a lot—practicing, riding, stickand-balling, and playing tournaments to gain experience and improve as much as possible.

Mentally, I think that’s the key. Your mindset is everything, and you have to work on it. I go to a psychologist, and I consider it an essential part of my life. Outside of that, I also have my own mental health routines.

What skills do you think are most important for success in polo?

Mila: Of course, being skilled in the sport helps a lot, but resilience, consistency, and not getting discouraged are just as important.

Cande: I don’t know, but to me, effort, dedication, humility, self-discipline, learning from failure, motivation, and having fun are all key. You learn all these things along the way, and you should never stop learning and improving.

How has women’s polo evolved in recent years, and what do you hope to see in the future?

Mila: It has changed a lot and continues to evolve. Women are becoming more dedicated, stronger, and more strategic. We’re still far from men’s level, but hopefully, in the future, we can close that gap.

Cande: It’s incredible how much women’s polo has grown. There are more sponsors, better players, and stronger horse programs and organizations. I believe it has a huge future ahead, with many young girls playing well and a constantly growing women’s circuit.

Do you have any mentors or people you’d like to thank for your career?

Mila: My dad, without a doubt.

Cande: So many people! But my parents are the most important. My mom for always being there and teaching me so much about horse care and health. My dad for teaching me since I was little—he was tough sometimes, but he shaped me into who I am today. He has been with me every step of the way and continues to guide and teach me. Also, many people behind the scenes—the field trainer, the groomers, and so many others I’ve learned from and continue to learn from.

What are your short- and long-term goals in polo?

Mila: To win another Open, of course!

Cande: I have a degree in psychology and am specializing in sports psychology. But right now, I’m focused on polo and horses.

Short-term: To take on 2025 with energy and always try to win as much as possible!

Long-term: To help this sport grow and become even more competitive. I hope to see more sponsors getting involved and to pave the way for future generations.

What advice would you give young women interested in starting polo?

Mila: Give it your all—passion and dedication can take you far.

Cande: If you love it, go for it! With effort and dedication, anything is possible. Women’s polo is growing fast, and now is the time to get involved.

When are you coming to Casa de Campo to play?

Mila: Hopefully soon!

Cande: I need to go! I’ll see if I can organize a trip for March thank you for the invitation!

Fernando Arata Director of the Ecuestrian Center of Casa de Campo

Fernando Arata sees the evolution of polo in Casa de Campo as nothing short of exponential. Since his arrival at the resort nearly a decade ago, the support for polo has been total and unwavering, with results that clearly speak for themselves.

“Our facility boasts three Tifton grass polo fields, meticulously maintained with the latest technology for field management and care. In the Equestrian Center, we have over 130 boxes, corrals, a training track, an indoor arena, and a dedicated area for blacksmithing and veterinary care. This year, we are also excited to inaugurate an Embryo Center,” he explains.

Arata says: “Polo plays a central role in Casa de Campo’s community. The polo season is divided into two parts: from January to Easter, where we host three major tournaments—the British Cup, The Ladies Cup, and the Casa de Campo Open (8-12 goals). Then from July to September, we offer two summer tournaments with a lower handicap (6-8 goals).”

Fernando emphasizes that the polo experience in Casa de Campo is unparalleled, attracting both the local community and international tourists who are awestruck by the number of spectators and the caliber of players and horses. For instance, last year during the second Ladies Cup final, over 1,500 people attended the match.

He takes pride in noting that in recent years, the elite of world polo has graced our fields. Names such as Adolfo Cambiaso, Juan Martín Nero, Pelon Stirling, Ignacio Novillo Astrada, and many others have participated in our tournaments. Additionally, the best referees in the world have officiated our events, which have even been broadcast live on ESPN with commentary by Gustavo Sgalla. Dedicated polo photographers, as well as reputable magazines, journalists, and polo legends, have consistently visited us, enhancing our reputation on the global stage.

The Ladies Polo Cup has presented an opportunity to elevate female participation and recognition in the sport, and Fernando expresses his enthusiasm about continuing to promote this aspect of polo in Casa de Campo. With his passion for the sport and commitment to excellence, he looks forward to seeing how the polo landscape will further evolve in the years to come.

The Miami-Casa de Campo Real Estate Connection

For 25 years, I have been assisting investors in purchasing real estate in Miami, particularly in pre-construction projects. Since moving to Casa de Campo, I have been actively working in both markets—not only advising buyers and sellers locally but also laying the groundwork to become a bridge between Miami and Casa de Campo. I have hosted several presentations introducing exclusive pre-construction developments such as Brickell Flatiron, 57 Ocean, Cipriani Residences, and Ora by Casa Tua, carefully curating opportunities for Dominican investors.

Now, with La Romana Airport offering daily flights from American Airlines, the connection has never been easier. Miami continues to captivate Dominican buyers, with Brickell becoming the go-to destination for those seeking investment opportunities in one of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S. or simply a second home just two hours away by plane, offering the convenience of both private and commercial travel.

For this reason, I am proud to introduce some of the best pre-construction development opportunities to the Dominican market. Two of these stunning properties will be co-developed with Fortune International. Each one stands proudly in Miami’s most sought-after neighborhoods—Brickell and the Miami River, areas that embody the vibrant energy and elegance of the city. The Rainer Group, together with Porsche and Fortune International Development, are hosting a private event where these luxurious developments will be introduced to the Casa de Campo community. To be part of this extraordinary opportunity, you must register at: info@ therainergroup.com.

This intimate event will unfold on Sunday, March 23rd, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at one of our most magnificent oceanfront mansions. Guests will be treated to a refined brunch, accompanied by champagne and crudités while soaking in the breathtaking views and elegance of the setting. During this exclusive gathering, we will present a handpicked selection of the finest real estate opportunities, offering a rare chance to explore the allure of both the Miami and Casa de Campo markets. It’s an exceptional opportunity to connect, learn, and network in a warm, private environment that celebrates both the beauty of these destinations and the passions they inspire.

With flexible ownership options, minimal rental restrictions, and a dedicated on-site professional operator, ORA ensures seamless service for every resident.Life at ORA goes beyond luxury living—it’s a place where design, art, cuisine, and community come together to create a truly exceptional lifestyle.

ORA is an exceptional development for professionals who want to have everything at their fingertips. With a wide range of amenities and 24/7 dining options, it caters to the demanding lifestyle of young professionals looking for convenience and luxury. The diverse dining experiences at ORA include Terra, a unique 24-hour gourmet market and bakery , perfect for a quick coffee or latenight bite. Uva, an intimate enoteca, serves over 500 wine labels paired with Mediterranean cuisine, offering wine tastings, private events, and outdoor dining. Fuoco is a Mediterranean restaurant focused on wood-burning fire cooking with sustainably sourced ingredients, offering both indoor and outdoor dining areas. On the rooftop, Vento provides a two-story experience with panoramic views of Miami, including a sky lounge, private dining room, rooftop pool, entertainment stage, and intimate lounges. A private members-only lounge, Vento by Casa Tua, offers an exclusive experience for residents.

Additional amenities include a resort-style pool with ocean views, cabanas, and poolside service, as well as a Clubroom for social gatherings with a bar, lounge, chef’s kitchen, and entertainment area. For fitness and wellness, ORA features a state-of-the-art fitness center, wellness center with individual treatment rooms, steam rooms, saunas, and a juice bar. The Social Lounge is a private space for owners, complete with indoor and outdoor seating, a reading library, and creative workspaces. Lastly, Bosco, a 40-foot sky park, offers landscaped walking paths, wellness spaces for yoga, tai chi, and pilates, and areas for film screenings, live music, and performances. This comprehensive offering truly sets ORA apart as the perfect place for professionals seeking both luxury and convenience.

What I love about this development is that ORA is designed to fill a significant gap in the Brickell area, particularly with the closure of the Mandarin Oriental and the absence of 5-star hotels in the neighborhood. ORA is the only high-end luxury development that comes fully furnished and allows flexible rentals, setting it apart from the new wave of pre-construction luxury developments in Brickell, which, while luxury and branded, do not offer this flexibility. With approximately 100,000 square feet of amenities, ORA provides an unparalleled lifestyle experience that truly makes it one of a kind.

Prices for ORA start at $1.1M, and the development is already 38% sold. Construction is expected to begin at the end of 2025.

Dye Fore

Dye Fore is, in my opinion, one of the most breathtaking locations in Casa de Campo. With its proximity to Altos de Chavón, spectacular golf course views, and tranquil lakeside surroundings, it offers an unparalleled living experience. The Costa Sur lots have been selling rapidly— not only due to tax incentives but also because they are the only golf-front lots in Casa de Campo that qualify for Confotur. Once fully developed, Dye Fore will offer an exclusive and serene residential setting, featuring a park, walking trails, and easy access to Altos de Chavón. I see it as the modern evolution of Casa de Campo’s Golf Villas, reminiscent of what those iconic homes represented 50 years ago. Now, with contemporary designs, open layouts, and expansive windows, these homes create a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living, embracing the surrounding natural beauty.

The lot prices in Dye Fore range from $750 to $850 per square meter, with total lot prices varying between $1.7M and $2.5M. High-end construction costs in the area average around $2,300 per square meter. Casa de Campo is home to renowned architects and premier construction firms, ensuring exceptional craftsmanship, top-tier finishes, and the use of imported materials. Despite the world-class quality, construction costs remain highly competitive compared to other luxury destinations worldwide.

The “Dye Fore” area in Casa de Campo is named in honor of Pete Dye, the renowned golf course designer who was responsible for creating the iconic golf courses on the property. Dye is famous for his innovative and challenging designs, and his work at Casa de Campo has helped the destination become one of the best places to play golf in the Caribbean. The “Dye Fore” course is one of the most notable in the region, offering stunning views and a challenge for golfers of all levels.

A Timeless Cultural Treasure

Perched above the Chavón River, Altos de Chavón is a breathtaking 16th-century Mediterranean-style village nestled in the heart of the Dominican Republic. This architectural gem, envisioned by Dominican architect José Antonio Caro and Italian designer Roberto Coppa, was meticulously handcrafted by local artisans, making it a true masterpiece of design and craftsmanship.

More than just a stunning replica, Altos de Chavón serves as a vibrant cultural hub, attracting artists, residents, and visitors from around the world. The village is alive with working studios, where artisans create everything from pottery and weaving to silk-screening and fine art. Its galleries and boutiques showcase unique, locally crafted pieces, fostering a space for artistic expression and cultural exchange.

The village also houses a museum of archaeology, offering insights into the region’s rich history, and the charming St. Stanislaus Church, a beloved landmark known for its picturesque beauty.

Altos de Chavón Amphitheater: Where Legends Perform

At the heart of Altos de Chavón stands its most iconic venue—the 5,000-seat Grecian-style amphitheater, an architectural marvel that has hosted some of the most legendary performances in music history. Since its grand inauguration in 1982 by Frank Sinatra for the HBO special The Concert of the Hemispheres, this open-air theater has welcomed a dazzling array of international superstars.

Artists such as Sting, Elton John, Michael Bublé, Andrea Bocelli, Gloria Estefan, Alejandro Fernández, Marc Anthony, Spyro Gyra, Michel Camilo, Juan Luis Guerra, Air Supply, Julio Iglesias, and Plácido Domingo have all graced this iconic stage, making it a premier destination for world-class entertainment.

With its cobblestone streets, panoramic views of the Chavón River, and glimpses of the Caribbean Sea, Altos de Chavón is more than a destination—it is an experience, a journey through history, art, and culture like no other.

These initiatives have been met with overwhelming enthusiasm, attracting audiences eager to partake in the magic of our culture. It sounds like a delicate balance between modernization and preservation.

Whether you are an art lover, a history enthusiast, or someone seeking a unique cultural adventure, Altos de Chavón has something special to offer. We look forward to welcoming you and sharing this extraordinary journey with you.

Jacqueline Then Fashion, Influence & Legacy

Career and vision: What inspired you to enter the fashion world and how has your style evolved over the years?

JT: Sometimes I think fashion spoke to me before I could understand it, like those words you learn without knowing where they come from. It became entangled in the threads of the dresses my mother sewed for me, in the shapes and colors that surrounded me, in the constant murmur of a city that never stopped moving. It was the land, its endless music, the Caribbean bursting in blues and golds, the warmth that is felt more on the skin than in words, that drew me into this trade. The years, like a slow river, have been stripping my style: before, perhaps it was a whisper, a timid attempt to express something profound; today, it is a resounding affirmation, as rich in nuances as the island I carry in my veins.

Fashion with identity: How do you define the essence of your brand and how is Dominican culture reflected in your designs?

JT: My brand, if one stops to really look at it, is a territory more than a name, a map made of contrasts: the pause and the vertigo, the serene tones and the sudden burst of light.

It is not like walking a straight line, it is rather a journey with detours, a rhythm that is discovered as one walks. It is, in short, a journey. Dominican culture is not something that can be explained in words, it is a whole: the dance of the merengue, the rhythm of the drum, the scent of the sea, the lights of the city, its beliefs. And my work, my creation, is simply a transcription of that vibrant identity. The fabrics we use, the embroideries, the textures, are an echo of what we are, of what we have always been.

Influential Woman: As a leading woman in fashion, what challenges have you faced and how have you overcome them?

JT: Being a woman, being creative, in a world where expectations seem always alien to who I am, has been, in a sense, like being in a constant negotiation with destiny. It’s not that there are no challenges; there are, as on any road where the shadows seem to move right behind us. I have found that those small daily battles, those almost imperceptible insurgencies, are the alchemy that strengthens the soul and clarifies what truly matters. There is no victory without sacrifice, and the key is to follow the path without giving up, and persistent as the wind that, even unseen, never ceases in its momentum.

Female Empowerment: What advice would you give to young female designers and entrepreneurs looking to break into the industry?

JT: For those young women who are entering this creative labyrinth, I would tell them not to fear the night or allow outside voices to extinguish the light that burns

within them. In this world, the truth is that there are no shortcuts. The road is long, sometimes you get lost, sometimes you find it. But the most important thing is to know that in every step, in every mistake, there is a lesson. Just as the sea reinvents itself every day, so can we. It is not the absence of fear, but daring to continue, even when the shadows creep behind you, that forges authenticity. And it is that authenticity, as tortuous as it is rewarding, which, in each mistake and success, reveals the secret of transforming uncertainty into a dance that is, after all, true empowerment.

Fashion and lifestyle: How do you think fashion connects with the luxury lifestyle, culture and identity of the Caribbean?

JT: Luxury is not only a matter of price or exclusivity, it is a matter of essence, of being true to oneself. Fashion is a way of expressing ourselves, of saying who we are before we even speak. The Caribbean has an identity that cannot be ignored: we are light, warmth, history. Fashion in the Caribbean is a reflection of that freedom, of that passion for life. Luxury here is not just ostentation, it is the ability to enjoy the genuine, the authentic.

Future and legacy: What is your biggest dream for the future of Dominican fashion and what would you like to leave as a legacy in the industry?

JT: My dream is that the future of Dominican fashion will be a constant celebration of our culture, that we never lose sight of our roots, even as we look to the future. The legacy I wish to leave is one of authenticity, of struggle, of passion for what we do. I want those who come after me to find a road paved with effort, but also with the knowledge that everything we do, we do it with our souls.

Expansion in Altos de Chavón: When are you opening your new location in Altos de Chavón and what can we expect from this new space?

JT: Altos de Chavón is a magical place, full of history and art, and my new space there will be an extension of all that I am. The store will open its doors for Easter, and what I am looking for with this space is to create a sensory experience, where fashion, art and history blend in perfect harmony. It will be a place where every garment, every corner, will talk about us.

Inspiration for entrepreneurs: What message would you give to women who dream of starting their own business but still don’t dare to take the plunge?

JT: I would tell them that fear is only a shadow, and that the only thing needed to move forward is a first step. The path is uncertain, it always will be. But the real question is: who are you if you don’t follow your dream? Women have that spark, that ancestral force, that can transform the world. There is no greater satisfaction than creating from the heart.

Fashion and polo: I know that your family is sporty and that your husband and son play polo. Have you designed a collection inspired by this sport?

JT: Polo has a unique elegance, a discipline that is reflected in every play, and that same elegance, that discipline, is reflected in my designs. I have created collections inspired by polo, an interpretation of the grace and sophistication of the sport. Polo is an art in motion, and fashion is my way of interpreting it.

Points of sale: Where can people buy your clothes nowadays? Do you have a presence in physical stores or in specialized boutiques?

JT: My garments are available in exclusive boutiques both in the Dominican Republic and in a few select cities. But, like everything in this life, I don’t want fashion to be an inaccessible product. I am working so that more people can access what I do, no matter where they are.

Source of inspiration: What inspires your collections? Do you have a muse, artistic movement or life experience that guides your creative process?

JT: Each collection is a piece of myself, a fragment of who I am. My muse is life itself, the people, the colors of the earth, the melodies I hear as I walk around the island. I am inspired by a cockfight, the product of being the daughter of a cockfighter, that mixture of strength and destiny playing itself out in an instant.

I am inspired by polo, the speed and the beat of the horses that my husband and son ride, the subtle dance between control and freedom.

The Altagracia Virgin, who saved me as a child, is always present, like an invisible thread that sustains all that I am. The Taino culture, the deepest root of this island, what is most ours, what belongs to us without effort because it is the most autochthonous thing we have. I am inspired by the sea, the breeze that whispers old and new stories, the earth under my feet, love. I do not follow a single artistic movement, because in every corner of time there is something that whispers, that pushes, that leaves its trace in the fabrics, in the cuts, in every thread that unites what I imagine with what, finally, I create.
