1 Overview SANY ZHUHAI Manufacturing Base, which produces gantry cranes, is located at Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, China. Zhuhai is situated near to Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Macao, with a land area of 1653 square kilometres, sea area of 6000 square kilometres, and a permanent population of 1.6 million people.

Figure 2 - Location of Zhuhai SANY has 2 manufacturing bases (Base No: 1 and Base No: 2, refer below) in Zhuhai. Each of the manufacturing bases has its own wharf which facilitates the production lines from the inland to the seaside, loading and shipping to SANY’s Customers.

SANY GROUP CO., LTD. 2 SANY Manufacturing Bases No.1 2.1 Summery Base No: 1 covers an approximate site area of 300 acres and has a 5,000-ton wharf. The manufacturing area is approximately 54,000 m2 and the external area approximately 60,000 m 2. The total coastline is approximately 375m long and the depth of water is 8m. Facilities within the manufacturing base include offices, amenities and support areas. Base No: 1 started production in September, 2011 and the total investment of this manufacturing base is RMB 300 million. The annual production of this base is RMB1 billion.
Figure 3 – SANY Building 2.2 Base No: 1: Factory Brief SANY’s manufacturing Base No: 1 was developed and built in accordance with the most advanced production, process, and design for the Port Machinery industry. The planning idea for this manufacturing facility includes the following concepts: •
From inland manufacturing production lines to the seaside to loading and shipping through the coastline wharf.

Efficient Process and Manufacturing Flow: Steel materials approach, cutting, molding, structural welding, machining, parts coating, assembly, commissioning, whole painting, shipping. Fluency of production process, convenient transportation, high production efficiency.

SANY GROUP CO., LTD. 3 SANY ZHUHAI Manufacturing Base No: 2 3.1 Summery Base No.2 covers an approximate area of 6,000 acres, and will be built over 3 phases. Phase 1 covers 800 acres with a manufacturing area of approximately 16, 0000 m2 and total coastline of approximately 480m. It will be used for producing and manufacturing port equipments. Phases 2 and 3 areas will be used for manufacturing construction vessels and marine equipments. Construction of Phase 1 commenced in April 2012, and will be completed in April 2013 and Phase 1 wharf will be completed in April 2015. Phase 1 investment is about RMB 88,000,000 with production capacity of RMB 4,000,000,000. 3.2 Base No: 2: Factory Brief Base No: 2 is also designed in accordance with the most advanced production process and design of the Port Machinery industry with high production efficiency and throughput, logistics and direct delivery from manufacture to shipping to Customers. All the production works of cutting, welding, painting, and assembly of main structure components are finished in the workshops with welding of other frames, erection, commissioning work completed at the outside yard. The base incorporates environmental protection measures with investments in environmental protection equipments to control and minimize environment pollution.
Figure 4 –Base No: 2 3.3 Manufacturing Areas Brief Pretreatment & Cutting Area : Total Area : 12,600 m2 Due to Zhuhai’s climate condition, pretreatment works and all materials are stored inside the factory. The pre-treatment and cutting area has capacity for the pretreatment & cutting works of structural components of 354 units of gantry crane including STS, RMG, RTG, JIB CRANE every year. It has the capacity to process over 1,420,000 tons of structural components and 1,650,000 tons of steel plates per annum. Production Area of Large Structure Components This production area produces the large structural components of STS, RMG, RTG, JIB CRANES. The production area occupies an area of 30,300 m2 and is equipped with a 50t gantry crane. Production Area of Gantry Mechanism This production area produces the Gantry Mechanism of STS, RMG, RTG, JIB CRANES, occupies an area is 6,800 m 2, and it worked 312 days every year. Coating & Painting Area This area is for coating & painting works and occupies a total area of 18,144 m2. The coating and painting area has a span of 36m to facilitate coating and painting of large components. Assembly Area Final assembly, erection works and delivery are undertaken in this area. The workshop’s total area is 20,000 m 2 with a maximum gantry crane facility of 150t. The outside yard area is about 200000 m 2 at the wharf. The work equipments include 200t jib crane, 280t jib crane, 800t big lifting equipment.
