The general theme of this dissertation was the desarticulation and intersectionality in Santurce. Using this theme, sport was chosen as a connecting space and a social catalyst. After an investigation, it was found that the best way to create connections was to be aware of nearby housing and mix organized sports with unorganized ones. Sports like basketball, baseball and cycling were mixed with spaces for parkour and skating to achieve this. These spaces were left in the central part of the lot to create visual and pedestrian connections between Ave. Ponce de León and Ave. Fernandez Juncos. Two buildings were also designed on the corners of the lot, the one close to Ave. Ponce de León is a bicycle store and workshop and the other one is a physiotherapy complex with a small police station for safety in the park.

This project was focused in designing a coworking space and creating the plans that one would make as a professional. The design was substractive, a block was placed on the lot and parts were taken away to create the form. The outer shell was kept which created some courtyards that work as filters between the city and the building and create a better connection with the urban context. The design was also focused in the natural ventilation of the spaces, for this reason, operable brise soleil were used on the windows and facades.

The task here was to design a civic center on a site with an existing structure and access to the San Juan bay. A sports complex was the chosen plan after an investigation of the area. The spaces were divided placing the administrative parts in the existing structure and the sporting areas in new spaces looking at the bay. The main concept for the design were boat sails and the shape of a bay, with this the idea was to create an accessible and safe space for people to enjoy the facilities.

The Requirements for this project were to create at least 20 housing units and have space for commercial spaces. Two of the most important design criteria that was taken for consideration in this design was for every unit to have a view of the sea and to create a safe and private area for the residents. To resolve this aspect, a concept close to the site was used, the spanish colonial forts.
