THE SITE, SUNSET SEAT IN DEL MAR, CALIFORNIA, OFFERS VIEWS FROM CLIFFS OVER 150 FEET HIGH, CASCADING TO A RAILWAY RUNNING PARALLEL TO THE STATE BEACH. IT WAS ENVISIONED TO BE DIVIDED INTO TEN PARCELS, ASSIGNED AT RANDOM.
WE WERE TO CONSIDER CLIMATE, SUSTAINABILITY PRACTICES, AND CULTURAL INFLUENCES WHILE REFLECTING THE CLIENTS' PREFERENCES. THE GOAL WAS TO DESIGN A RESIDENCE FOR A FICTIONAL FAMILY OF OUR OWN CREATION, INCORPORATING THEIR UNIQUE STYLE, WANTS, AND NEEDS.
THE RESIDENCE WAS TO MEET CITY REQUIREMENTS WHILE CONVENIENTLY UTILIZING A UNIQUE PARCEL OF RUGGED TERRAIN, INTENTIONALLY INCORPORATING THE HILLSIDE SLOPE WHERE THE PACIFIC OCEAN ESSENTIALLY BECAME THE HOMES BACKYARD.

BEL AIR, CALIFORNIA, RENOWNED FOR ITS LUXURY, PRIVACY, AND CELEBRITY RESIDENTS, SERVED AS THE SITE FOR THIS PROJECT. AN UNTOUCHED PARCEL LOCATED IN STONE CANYON WAS PROVIDED WITH THE GOAL OF SHOWCASING OUR INDIVIDUAL DESIGN STYLES, MOVING AWAY FROM CLIENT-CENTERED APPROACHES.
MY PREFERRED STYLE BLENDS CONTEMPORARY DESIGN WITH MODERNISM AS BOTH STYLES CELEBRATE THE BEAUTY OF NATURAL MATERIALS. I WAS DEDICATED TO MINIMIZING THE IMPACT ON THE SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT WITH THIS DESIGN. I INTENTIONALLY PROPOSED THE USE OF CONCRETE FOR ITS SUSTAINABILITY ASPECTS. WHILE IT MAY APPEAR STARK, IT IS CONTRASTED BY THE NATIVE LANDSCAPE ON THE EXTERIOR AND THE CURATED MATERIAL CHOICES LIKE STONES AND WOODS WITHIN, CREATING A HARMONIOUS BALANCE BETWEEN STRUCTURE AND NATURE.

INTENDED FOR USE BY THE LOCAL UNIVERSITY AND TOWN RESIDENTS TO OFFER SPACES FOR CONVERSATION, MEDITATION, AND ACTIVITIES, THE GOAL OF THIS COMPETITION WAS TO DESIGN AN INDOOR CONVERSATION CENTER WITH A LIBRARY, ART GALLERY AND EVENT SPACE COMPLEMENTED BY OUTDOOR GARDENS, A PLAZA AND GATHERING SPACES.
THIS DESIGN EMBODIES A MODERNIST CONCEPT THAT RESPECTS THE HISTORIC AESTHETIC OF THE URBAN TOWN IN WHICH IT IS LOCATED, WHILE CONTRIBUTING TO THE ONGOING REDEVELOPMENT.
I INCORPORATED BALCONIES, PATIOS, AND ALCOVES TO STIMULATE INTERACTIONS DEPENDING ON WHICH CAPTIVATES YOU TO ENGAGE THE MOST. CORRUGATED STEEL SATISFIES THE NEED FOR A MATERIAL BREAK IN THIS TRADITIONAL RED BRICK SCENE. THE HUE IS SPECIFIC AS IT CREATES A MONOCHROMATIC SCHEME TO TIE THE SURROUNDING ARCHITECTURE TO THE NEW CENTER.

THIS WORK REQUIRED A COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION AND EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT THROUGHOUT THE SCHEMATIC, DESIGN, AND CONSTRUCTION PHASES.
MANAGED THE PREPARATION OF CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS AND ENSURED CODE COMPLIANCE FOR THE RENOVATION UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF A LICENSED ARCHITECT. COLLABORATED WITH THE DEALERSHIP OWNER AND DESIGN TEAM TO ENSURE ALL ASPECTS MET REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS AND ENHANCED THE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. THE REDESIGN INCLUDED A NEW FLOOR PLAN, STOREFRONT, FLOORING, FURNITURE, SIGNAGE, AND ACCESSIBILITY RAMP.
APPROVED PERMIT STATUS WAS OBTAINED THROUGH THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AFTER EXTENSIVE COMPLIANCE. I ACTIVELY PARTICIPATED IN THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS, OVERSAW IMPLEMENTATION OF CODE, AND ENSURED ADHERENCE TO DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS.

MITSUBISHI OF BAKERSFIELD
2023-2024, PROFESSIONAL, INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR TENANT IMPROVEMENTS OF AN EXISTING MOTOR VEHICLE DEALERSHIP IN THE AUTOMALL OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA.


THIS WORK WAS INCLUDED IN A SERIES OF PHASES FOR THE NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION, GLOBAL FAMILY CARE NETWORK.
MANAGED THE PREPARATION OF CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS AND ENSURED CODE COMPLIANCE FOR THE DESIGN AND OCCUPANCY CHANGE UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF A LICENSED ARCHITECT. THE OBJECTIVE WAS TO CONVERT A RESIDENTIAL OCCUPANCY INTO AN INSTITUTIONAL GROUP, REQUIRING EXTENSIVE RESEARCH OF LOCAL REGULATIONS, BUILDING CODES, AND STATE LICENSING AND ACCESSIBILITY REQUIREMENTS.
APPROVED PERMIT STATUS WAS OBTAINED THROUGH THE COUNTY OF KERN AFTER EXTENSIVE COMPLIANCE EFFORTS. I ACTIVELY PARTICIPATED IN THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS AND CONTRIBUTED TO THE FUNDRAISING EFFORTS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT.

THIS WORK EXTENDED MY KNOWLEDGE OF BUILDING CODES, ACCESSIBILITY REQUIREMENTS, AND CONSTRUCTION PHASES.
MANAGED THE PREPARATION OF CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS AND ENSURED CODE COMPLIANCE UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF A LICENSED ARCHITECT. I ACTIVELY PARTICIPATED IN THE DESIGN PROCESS IN COLLABORATION WITH THE GORSKI’S AND INTERIOR DESIGN STUDIO, KOR PROJECTS. THE OBJECTIVE WAS TO REDESIGN AN EXISTING OFFICE BUILDING TO MEET THE NEEDS OF A MID-SIZED LAW FIRM. THIS DESIGN INCLUDED OVER 10 NEW OFFICES, CONFERENCE ROOMS, A CAFE, NEW PLUMBING, NEW LIGHTING, AND EXTENSIVE CHANGES TO THE EXISTING PARKING LOT TO MEET A.D.A. STANDARDS. THIS DESIGN ALSO INCLUDED A CUSTOM ARKTURA CEILING PANEL DESIGN AND TOPAKUSTIK WOOD PANELS THROUGHOUT.
APPROVED PERMIT STATUS WAS OBTAINED THROUGH THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AFTER COMPLIANCE.

REDWOOD HILL PROJECT
2024, PROFESSIONAL, PRIMARY BATH AND KITCHEN REMODEL OF AN EXISTING HOME LOCATED IN THE GREATER BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA, AREA.



THIS RESIDENTIAL REMODEL MARKED MY FIRST SOLO PROFESSIONAL PROJECT. I WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR DESIGNING A NEW LAYOUT FOR THE EXISTING KITCHEN AND PRIMARY BATHROOM. MY TASKS ALSO INCLUDED CREATING RENDERINGS AND PLANS, WHICH ENCOMPASSED A DEMOLITION PLAN, FLOOR PLANS, REFLECTED CEILING PLANS, AND ELEVATIONS FOR CUSTOM CABINETRY.
THE ORIGINAL LAYOUT FEATURED A SEPARATE KITCHEN AND FORMAL DINING AREA, WHICH LIMITED THE FLOW OF THE SPACE. TO ENHANCE FUNCTIONALITY AND CREATE A MORE INVITING ATMOSPHERE, SEVERAL WALLS WERE REMOVED TO ESTABLISH AN OPEN-CONCEPT KITCHEN, DINING AREA, AND BREAKFAST NOOK. THE DESIGN INCLUDES A STUNNING 11-FOOT ISLAND MADE OF BOOKMATCHED QUARTZITE, COMPLEMENTED BY CUSTOM CABINETRY, SERVING AS THE FOCAL POINT OF THIS TRANSFORMED SPACE. THE PRIMARY BATH WAS EXPANDED TO INCLUDE AN 8-BY-6-FOOT WALK-IN SHOWER AND SOAKING TUB FOR RELAXATION. NEW LIGHTING AND WINDOWS WERE INSTALLED TO MAXIMIZE LIGHT, AND THE ENTIRE AREA IS FINISHED WITH A SLEEK CONCRETTA FINISH, CREATING A CONTEMPORARY AESTHETIC THROUGHOUT THE HOME.

PRIMARY BATH. FEATURES A SEPARATE WATER CLOSET AND IS DESIGNED TO BE A WET ROOM. THIS BATH HOSTS A SOAKER TUB, RECESSED SHELVING IN THE SHOWER, AND A NATURAL STONE SINK PAIRED WITH AN IMPORTED VANITY WITH WALLS FINISHED IN CONCRETTA, CREATING A RUSTIC MEDITERRANEAN STYLE.

2024, PROFESSIONAL, KITCHEN REMODEL AND PANTRY ADDITION OF AN EXISTING HOME LOCATED IN THE GREATER BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA, AREA.



THIS RESIDENTIAL REMODEL MARKED MY SECOND SOLO PROFESSIONAL PROJECT WITH ADELINA INTERIORS. SIMILAR TO THE FIRST, I WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR DESIGNING A NEW LAYOUT FOR THE EXISTING KITCHEN AND CREATING A SOLUTION TO THEIR SMALL PANTRY AND LAUNDRY ROOM. MY TASKS ALSO INCLUDED CREATING RENDERINGS AND PLANS, WHICH ENCOMPASSED A DEMOLITION PLAN, FLOOR PLANS, REFLECTED CEILING PLANS, AND ELEVATIONS FOR CUSTOM CABINETRY.
AN OPEN-CONCEPT KITCHEN WAS CREATED BY REMOVING THE WALL THAT SEPARATED THE KITCHEN FROM THE DINING AREA, ENHANCING FUNCTIONALITY OF THE SPACE. THIS ALLOWED FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A 8-FOOT ISLAND, WHICH FEATURES AN 8-FOOT DINING TABLE EXTENSION. AN UNUSED CORNER WINDOW WAS REPLACED WITH AN EXPANSIVE 12-FOOT WINDOW, PROVIDING AN UNOBSTRUCTED VIEW OF THE LARGE BACKYARD AND INVITING AMPLE NATURAL LIGHT INTO THE KITCHEN. ADDITIONALLY, 4 FEET OF VACANT GARAGE SPACE WAS THOUGHTFULLY UTILIZED TO CREATE AN ADDITION THAT CONNECTS THE LAUNDRY ROOM TO THE PANTRY VIA A HALLWAY LOCATED BEHIND THE EXISTING POWDER ROOM.

KITCHEN. FEATURES CUSTOM CURVED CABINETRY THAT FOLLOWS THE HOME’S CURVATURE, COMPLEMENTED BY FLUTED GLASS AND GOLD HARDWARE. A CUSTOM 12-FOOT WINDOW BRINGS IN NATURAL LIGHT, WHILE AN ISLAND AND DINING TABLE EXTENDING OVER 16 FEET PROVIDE AMPLE STORAGE AND COUNTER SPACE FOR THE CLIENT’S LARGE FAMILY.
