My interactions are shaped by my perception of an environment, especially entering a new space. The spaces we take up play a significant role in fostering connections but at the same time, it also creates moments of hesitation. Entering a new place can be intimidating. We start to question whether we’re capable of engaging or whether we’ll fit in. The unknown makes us question our actions and our role within that space.
There are no fixed rules for how to use a space, only what we are willing to do within it. This freedom often comes with the fear of the possible: what might happen if we step outside our comfort zones? The fear of being seen or judged can be a powerful force, influencing whether we choose to interact or retreat. If we were forced into the public gaze, would we act differently? The decision to expose ourselves to the scrutiny of others transforms a space into something more significant either a place of dread or a sanctuary of comfort. The balance between being hidden or visible, between fear and connection, is something we constantly mediate as we navigate the world.
