Professional Work Academic Work

We were transforming the arts school for London Metropolitan University or LMU into a new arts school. This involved the retrofit of the Aldgate campus on Goulston street. We conducted calculations to work out the number of students and teachers the spaces we proposed could accommodate and completed retrofit plans and sections to make a design proposal to the arts school.

London Metropolitan University Art School is composed of three campuses. I produced floorplans sections and FF&E drawings to complete the proposal for the Work Stage 03 Design Report. The Accelerator building contains multiple retrofit changes which are illustrated in the work shown on these two pages.

Holloway Campus on Benwell Road required serious retrofit changes. The roof height on the main building was raised accommodating a new floor that would be used for art school facilities.

Anglia Ruskin University or ARU creative quarter contains a Ruskin Building, Coslett Building and a proposed a Media Building extension. These construction details, elevations and strip sections show work that I worked on to the external envelope. The Coslett building was to be retrofitted and the Media building is an extension New Build.

I designed a residential building on Revit for a family for one disabled user. This small dwelling contains a balcony and curtain glazed wall to prevent sound disruption to nearby residencies. I looked at building regulations to understand the space requirements for the disabled user and these specialised building regulations heavily influenced the floorplans and the design of the building.

Part I: Ruimterweg, Amsterdam, OZ, 2018
When I worked at OZ Architects in Amsterdam I produced a physical model for a high-density residential project in Ruimterweg the Netherlands. I worked on Revit to produce a 3D model of the design and worked to adjust the balconies of the facade of the towers to suit.

Part I:The University of Kuwait, Kuwait, HOK, 2016
When I worked for HOK Architects in London I designed the facade of Kuwait University this required me to use families on Revit, as a result it was an excellent software exercise in using families and design options to present to the client to obtain the desired facade.

Work produced in collaboration with OZ Architects

During my 5th year at the Glasgow School of Art, the Mackintosh School of Architecture I developed a thesis project designed to increase the land-value of the South-Side of Glasgow in an environmentally and socially sustainable way. I designed a Manufacturing City composed of 3D printing blocks to complete this objective.
