Cascara de Aire or “Air Shell” highlights the sustainable design of the dual-shell arena, promoting outside air flow and natural lighting into the glazed exterior of the dome structure.

Rhythm through Energy is delivered through the diamond-shaped facade that is intended to intensify activity among the fitness based user experience.

LA MESA CIVIC CENTER - PUBLIC LIBRARY DESIGN

Program: La Mesa Civic Masterplan & Public Library

The Masterplan proposal creates an opportunity for bringing together a previously unbalanced arrangement of important civic institutions by creating a public focalpoint for association and circulation through the radial tensile canopy and walkway. It’s radial formation entends out into the new public library that provides users a visible relationship to the area’s busiest, railway lined street, adjacent to the site.

Rhythm through Variation speaks to the uniting essence of the masterplan, utilizing different applications of rhythmic facade to connect the user experience to the surrounding cityscape.
