Abstract-
From the Egyptian government’s perspective, the development of a new administrate capital is the prime solution for tackling the challenges of rapid urbanization in Cairo. The construction of a new administrative capital will potentially alleviate these urbanization challenges and adopt sustainable urbanization principles for further development in Egypt. This study aims to determine if The New Administrative Capital (NAC) will help resolve Cairo’s urbanization and prevail in becoming Egypt’s new capital while abiding by the UN Habitat’s national urban policy. In order to properly evaluate the NAC, the study is based on secondary qualitative data that responds to UN-National Habitat’s Urban Policy (NUP) – an internationally recognized policy that coordinates toward a shared vision and an aim that fosters more sustainable urban development in the long term.
