This was the year of Thiago Monteiro and Solana Sierra

On one hand, 28-year-old Brazilian tennis player Thiago Monteiro closed the 2022 year by adding one more ATP Challenger singles title to his trophy cabinet: the Salzburg Challenger (Austria) in July. In total, he has added seven Challenger (France).

In addition throughout this season, Thiago Monteiro won 18 matches out of 24 played on the Challenger Tour, or 75% of the total. As for higher categories, the Brazilian tennis player managed to break through in the preliminary qualifying round of the ATP 1000 tournament in Paris.

He is currently ranked 65th in the APT ranking, the highest position among his country’s tennis players.

On the other hand, Solana Sierra, the young and up-andcoming Argentine tennis player, made her debut at the Billie Jean King Cup this year, claiming four victories. In July, she professional title at the W15 in Cancun 17 (Mexico). A week later she won her second title: the W15 Cancun 18.

Therefore, the birth of one of the Argentine players who can make it to the big WTA circuit tournaments, is already starting to make her presence felt. She accumulated 15 consecutive victories and is currently number 483 in the world.
