Planning Your Home
Creating your dream home involves thoughtful planning for the finishing and furnishing process. By following these steps, you can turn your living space into a reflection of your style and comfort.
1. Define Your Style: Explore interior design styles and create a mood board to gather inspiration and colour palettes.
2. Set a Budget: Allocate funds for finishing materials and furniture to maintain a balance between quality and affordability.
3. Plan Room by Room: Tackle one room at a time, starting with frequently used spaces, considering their purpose and desired ambiance.
4. Select Finishing Materials: Choose durable and visually appealing materials, such as paint colours, flooring, and window treatments.
5. Invest in Quality Furniture: Prioritise wellconstructed, comfortable, and timeless pieces that suit the room’s size and layout.
6. Space Planning and Functionality: Create efficient layouts to optimise space and traffic flow, and consider multifunctional furniture for smaller rooms.

7. Mix and Match with Accessories: Add personality through rugs, cushions, curtains, and artwork with a blend of textures and styles.
8. Lighting Matters: Utilise different lighting sources, including ambient, task, and accent lighting, to create the desired mood and atmosphere.
By approaching each step with care and creativity, you can transform your house into a welcoming and inspiring home that brings joy and comfort for years to come.
Designing your dream home is an exciting journey that requires careful planning and consideration. Remember that a well-designed home not only enhances your daily living experience but also becomes a welcoming space for your family and friends to gather and create cherished memories together.
Designing your Kitchen
Installing a new kitchen is a complex process. These tips aim to guide you through it efficiently:
1. Start with a detailed room plan, accurately noting all access points, window and door dimensions, non-90-degree walls, and any unique features.
2. Provide key measurements, specifying floor level, wall finishing, patterns, false ceilings, door jambs, wall angles, skirting, floor level, and wall flatness.

3. Bring these measurements to your initial appointment. You should also come with a budget.
4. Our experienced designers will work with you on layout, design, and material selection.
5. Choose kitchen tops and appliances, either through us or from another source.
6. Once you’re satisfied with the design and price, place your order.
7. We’ll then double-check measurements at your home and provide electrical/plumbing plans.
8. Delivery is normally three months from confirmation. If appliances or kitchen tops are ordered through us, timely installations will be arranged.
9. The kitchen installation requires a finished room, including laid floors, plastered/painted walls, gypsum ceilings, and completed electrical/plumbing points.
10. Our experienced and skilled installers will then assemble the kitchen.

JoinwellFXB Merger
Joinwell and FXB, two well-established furniture companies in Malta, have agreed to merge their various companies. With a combined 200 years of experience in the manufacture and importation of furniture, the new organisation is expected to generate significant benefits to all stake holders; customers, employees and shareholders. Joinwell’s specialisation in recent years has been in kitchens and bespoke furniture, apart from other furniture for the home and business. FXB on the other hand has significant strengths in contract furniture manufacturing, bespoke, and office furniture. Also, in recent years FXB has added bathrooms, tiles, airconditioners and a range of environmental products to its product portfolio. The merger will therefore be creating a single partner for both business and retail customers where it comes to the finishing and furnishing of homes, businesses in general and the hospitality industry in particular.

Sebastian de Giorgio, Joinwell’s current CEO and Joint Executive Director of the merged companies, believes that the merger is a logical step to build on their shared success and values. Joseph Borg, Managing Director of FXB and Joint Executive Director of the merged entities, emphasises the
advantages of streamlining services for customers and achieving a stronger purchasing position which would in turn lead to more competitive pricing for their customers.
The merger also enhances the opportunities to focus on environmentally sustainable practices and deliver a stronger corporate structure. The joint entities will build on existing services whilst enhancing marketleading customer care practices. Customers can expect increased guarantees on their purchases from a solid business with a growing commitment to sustainability and value.
As part of the merger, FXB’s showroom in Qormi has already moved into Joinwell’s showroom in the same locality, and Joinwell’s factory will relocate to the FXB factory in San Gwann, becoming the newly formed group’s centre for manufacturing bespoke furniture. The FXB factories in Gozo will focus on volume production of contract furniture and apertures, including fire-rated doors. Additionally, works have already started on the building which will house JoinwellFxb’s new showroom in Malta whilst the company is studying its options on upgrading or replacing its showrooms in Gozo.
