Set in a beautiful sweeping bay the traditional resort of Llandudno is enclosed by the headlands of the Great Orme and Little Orme, 700 feet of sheer limestone that juts out into the sea. You can ascend to the top of the Great Orme in a cable car or Victorian Tramway and enjoy spectacular views across Anglesey and Snowdonia. The tranquillity of Llandudno with its pleasant shopping centre and wide level promenade makes it one of the most popular seaside resorts in Wales.

Friday Travelling north we pause in Chester – a city awash with history and famous for its half-timbered buildings and Roman heritage. It is also home to the unique 13th century rows, the famous Eastgate Clock, the largest Roman amphitheatre in Britain, a glorious cathedral plus a great choice of restaurants, cafes and bars. We continue in the afternoon to Llandudno, the ‘Queen of Resorts’ for our 2-night stay.

Saturday A day to enjoy Llandudno at your leisure and explore all its wonderful sights. Stroll along the promenade, take in the charming pier, enjoy a ride on the famous tramway or sample the modern shops. The stunning seaside town offers so much to see and do you really are spoilt for choice.

Sunday Leaving the hotel today we enjoy the scenery of the stunning Llanberis Pass and Snowdonia’s spectacular landscape. We drop down into Betws-y-Coed and enjoy a stop in this lovely town before continuing our journey home.

Step aboard the superb Waverley Paddle Steamer and wave goodbye to Glasgow as we set sail on the last seagoing paddle steamer in the world! Named after Sir Walter Scott’s Waverley novels, the ship embarked on her maiden voyage in 1947. Now a much-loved tourist attraction, we enjoy a memorable journey, steaming along the River Clyde and taking in the beautiful views all the way to Rothesay on the Isle of Bute – and back again!

Thursday Travelling north we arrive at our hotel in time for dinner. Friday Today we head to the dock at the Glasgow Science Centre to catch our morning departure on the Waverley Paddle Steamer for a return journey to Rothesay on the world’s last seagoing paddle steamer. We travel “doon the watter” on the River Clyde, historically one of Glasgow resident’s favourite holiday trips. When on board the Waverley we can visit the engine room and see the mighty steam engine power the ship’s massive paddle wheels. The Waverley also has a traditional dining saloon serving a range of meals and snacks, also period lounges so the beautiful coastline can be enjoyed from the Promenade Deck or the comfort of a seat indoors. We have a short pause to explore the Victorian seaside resort of Rothesay before embarking on our return journey.

The scheduled sailing times are: Depart Glasgow 10.00am Arrive Rothesay 1.15pm. Depart Rothesay 2.50pm – Arrive Glasgow 6.00pm Saturday After breakfast, we make our way home.

Set within the grounds of the Strathclyde Country Park, this hotel is ideally located very near to the M74 for easy access and only around 20 minutes’ journey into Glasgow centre. All 51 spacious bedrooms are well decorated and comfortable, equipped with a TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift and 18 ground floor bedrooms. Meals and drinks are taken in the circular Glasshouse Restaurant and Bar.
