The Ford Zetec is now well established as a popular engine for transplanting into earlier rear wheel drive Fords, as well as other makes and models, and Burton Power can offer numerous parts to make this operation feasible.
One such item is the Raceline Water Rail. Water rails are designed to simplify the cooling system and plumbing of the engine when installed in-line in an RWD car. The Zetec engine has water outlets at the back of the head, which in most RWD applications, foul the bulkhead if the original outlet housings are retained. The water rail is designed with a narrow profile and transfers this outlet to the front of the engine so that the plumbing is simpler and neater. Water outlet is via an X/flow thermostat housing which is also available from Burton Powe; as is a dedicated fitting kit.
Raceline Water Rail Ford Zetec E RWD conversion (Suitable for both Silver and Black Top applications) Part Number: FZ470 - £294.00 inc.VAT
Also available:
• Fitting Kit - Part Number FZ471- £14.50 inc.VAT
• Standard X/flow thermostat housing - Part Number FP610 - £51.50 inc.VAT or ...
• Special X/flow thermostat housing - Part Number FP610M - £93.60 inc.VAT
(This has: a ‘take off’ for easy bleeding of air locks, a facility for a fan switch to be added and a lower profile than standard for improved clearance).

Generally, when a rocker cover is removed the gasket should be replaced prior to refitting the cover as the old flattened gasket will probably no longer seal properly. However, the upgraded Silicone Rocker Gasket from Mini Spares springs back into shape so that (if refitted properly) the seal is as good as new. The silicone gasket is ideal for race cars, etc where the rocker cover is removed on a regular basis. Mini Spares has fitted one on its 1380cc engine road car with great results.
Order as part number GUG705009EVO at £10.08 inc. VAT
In rare cases longer rocker cover bolts may be required. Mini Spares stocks these as part number CAM6823 at £4.20 inc. VAT each.

A sudden loss of oil pressure can destroy an engine in seconds. The standard 7lb oil pressure switch fitted to classic Minis often gives the warning too late to save the engine.
Mini Spares new uprated 20lb oil pressure switch activates the warning light when the oil pressure drops to 20lbs giving the driver precious extra seconds to shut down the engine.
The Mini Spares uprated 20lb oil pressure switch can be ordered as part number HPS1.
At just £26.92 inc. VAT it’s a small price to pay to protect your engine.

Webcon now manufactures a heat shield for use on the Weber DCOE and DCO/SP range of carburettors.
On non-crossflow engines the carburettors are directly above the exhaust manifold. When exhaust heat rises up it can cause fuel handling problems in sidedraft carburettors. The new Webcon Heat Shield helps alleviate these problems by deflecting the heat around the carburettor.
The new Webcon Heat Shield is superbly made in the UK from 1.6mm Stainless Steel.
Part number 9990398700 is stamped with the Webcon logo to easily distinguish it from the thinner, less effective copies on the market.
The new Webcon Heat Shield retails at £22.39 plus VAT. One heat shield is required per carburettor.
Available directly from Webcon and from appointed Webcon dealers around the world. For further details contact Webcon UK on +44 (0)1932 787100 or visit www.webcon.co.uk

for carburettor equipped cars without a return fuel line
Bad hot starting can be the result of a build-up of pressure in the fuel feed line of a carburettor equipped car which causes flooding of the carburettor either during hot soak or whilst cranking.
Some manufacturers addressed this problem by fitting a fuel return line to the tank. However, this is a cumbersome solution for owners of cars without this feature as it involves making irreversible modifications to the car. Thankfully Webcon has the answer.
Webcon’s Fuel Line Pressure Relief Kit consists of extra fuel hose, clips and two tee pieces, (one with a valve and one without) to provide a by-pass loop in the feed pipe which then bleeds excess pressure build up from the system.
Installation involves just cutting the fuel feed pipe before and after the fuel pump and inserting the by-pass hose via the tee pieces. Solving a hot starting problem really is as simple as that. The kit contains a length of fuel hose, six hose clamps, two tee pieces and illustrated instructions. The kit is available with 8mm i.d. hose (Part HSK001) or 6mm I.D. hose (Part HSK002) and retails at £26.90 plus VAT.
Available directly from Webcon and from appointed Webcon dealers around the world. For further details contact Webcon UK on +44 (0)1932 787100 or visit www.webcon.co.uk
