Step 1. Check for Windows Updates and Upgrade it to the Latest Release
You need to make sure that your Windows is up-to-date to eliminate the QuickBooks error code 1603.
1.From the Runwindow, access the Control Panel and search Windows Update from the left panel.
2.Select Check for Updatesand click Install Now to install the recently available Windows updates.
3.Restart your PC and update QuickBooks again to check the status of the error code.
Your Windows security policies need to be modified to prevent them from interfering with QuickBooks.
1.Firstly, sign into your PC as an admin and open the Runwindow to run the msc command.
2.From the Windows Administrative Templatessection, move to Windows Components and find Windows Installer.
3.Go to the Prohibit User Installssection and double-click the policy to select the Not Configured
4.Reinstall QuickBooks and see if the error code 1603 is resolved.
You need to reinstall your QuickBooks application in Windows safe mode to resolve the QuickBooks update error 1603.
1.Type msconfigon the Run window search box and go to the Boot
2.Select Safe Modeand click OK to activate the Windows safe mode.
3.Restart your Windows and install QuickBooks Desktop, followed by completing the registration process.
4.Run the msconfig command again and uncheck the Safe Modeoption to switch back to the Windows Normal Mode.
