Get Rid of the QuickBooks Backup Failed

If QuickBooks could not backup the company file, the following reasons might be responsible –
• You have stored your company file on an external drive which is no longer connected to the PC, leading to backup issues.
• The storage device containing your company file is either corrupt or unavailable.
• Damaged company file data can also lead to the backup failure in QuickBooks.
• You have set up a wrong backup path for backing up your QB company file.
• There is not enough memory available in the memory device you are using to create the file backup.
• Your QuickBooks is not updated to the latest release, or the network data file is damaged.
If your QuickBooks won’t backup, you can eliminate the issue by following the solutions given below –
Backup problems in QuickBooks can be fixed by verifying the backup directory details.
• Open QuickBooks and navigate to the Preferences tab to go to the Backup Options section.
• From the Local Backup Only section, check your QuickBooks backup directory and ensure that the backup path is valid.
• If the backup path is incorrect, click Browse and select the right folder to save the file backup.
• If you want to change the backup path, you can go to the Create Backup window and enter the new location.
• Lastly, rerun QuickBooks and run the file backup to see if the issue is dismissed.
If your company file data is damaged, you can run the Verify and Rebuild utility to fix the QuickBooks not backing up issue.
• Open QuickBooks and access the Utilities drop-down menu from the File tab to find the verify data tool.
• Select Verify Data and identify the issues with your company file that lead to the backup failure.
• Once the data is verified, go back to the File menu and access the Utilities dropdown again to run the Rebuild Data Tool.
• Rebuild the damaged company file data, and once done, re-launch QuickBooks and perform the backup process to see if the problem is removed.
