The methods to fix this error while syncing your Amex account in QuickBooks are given below-
1- Reset the connection by disconnecting the account from your QuickBooks
This issue mainly develops due to a failed connection between QuickBooks and your American Express bank account. This can happen due to problems at the server end or minor glitches in the software, which can be fixed with a connection reset. You can disconnect the account from QuickBooks and add it again to refresh the connection, which might fix the issue. Before proceeding, you must add the transactions from For Review tab, as they’ll be erased when you disconnect the account. Follow the steps to refresh the connection-
• Open the Banking tab in your QuickBooks Online.
• Click the Banking option and tap the Edit icon (pencil) beside the account you want to disconnect.
• Click the Edit account info option and navigate to the Account window.
• Single-click on the checkbox beside Disconnect this account on save to mark it.
• Tap the Save and Close option.
Once your American Express account is disconnected from QuickBooks. Follow the steps given below to disconnect Intuit from American Express online banking-
• Disconnect all the existing Intuit connections with all your Amex business cards.
• Log in to your account on the official American Express website.
• Select a business card instead of the Personal/Corporate card.
• Tap the Account Services option at the top and select Security and Privacy.
• Click the Manage Partner Permissions option and tap Intuit.
• Click Disconnect and repeat the steps for all your Amex business cards.
You must connect the bank account again using the steps below-
• Go to the Bookkeeping menu in your QuickBooks Online.
• Click on Transactions and select Bank Transactions.
• Select the Link Account option and add your American Express account.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the bank account.
The connection will be refreshed after you connect the bank account again, and the issues will be resolved.
