What the research was about? The Data Loggers are a set of equipment that the school has been able to purchase thanks to the money Dan received through excellence in Science.

Sensors and probes at PRSC  Temperature  CO2  O2  Motion  Force  Salinity  pH  Electrical conductivity

How will this improve student outcomes?  Opens up the range of experiments

   

students can perform, rather than using second hand data More engaging for students Incorporating ICT into the classroom Exposing them to methods of data collection and graphing result Teachers becoming proficient in the use of new technology

Small cost/immediate impact  Write it into the curriculum so that using the

equipment becomes part of the course  Extremely good for VCE physics, biology and chemistry  Valuable for use in year 9 program  Possibility for cross-curricula studies

Medium Term Goals ď‚— PRACS written up and placed on Sharepoint for all

staff to use ď‚— All science staff to have used the Data Loggers in at least a couple of classes this year

Long Term Goals

 Incorporate into the National Curriculum  Invest in more sensors and probes for collecting

different types of data  Students designing their own pracs and using the Data Loggers to analyse the data
