LOT 14 Proposal - Envelope Details + Prototype
Taking the competition brief for the new Lot 14 Aboriginal Art and Cultures Centre in Adelaide, the project involves the design of a structure designed to house the Art and Cultures program while connecting the North Terrace Plaza and the Botanic Gardens.
The proposal involves a fibre reinforced concrete and diagrid construction concept and fibre reinforced concrete panel slopes which merges the architecture with the landscape while directing visitors through the structure and to the Botanic Gardens.

Martin Lutheran church mutlti-generational living
Habitat 6x6 is a focus on community building design which enables interactions between the multi-generational residents of the apartment complex. A design heavily influenced by the values and requirements of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, as well as input from Master of Property students from the University of Adelaide.
The minimal design is comprised of a glue laminated timber and crosslaminated timber structure in a 6 x 6 grid formation to create adaptable spaces for the needs and requirements of both tenants and church. The structure also served as experimentation for net-zero energy design and environmental assessments.

Working with themes of living-technical composite structures and flowering deciduous trees, the project aims to create an alternative more natural nurturing environment.
The project takes inspiration with the conceptual construction technique baubotanik, which is the combination of living trees with conventional man mande materials, as well as flowering deciduous trees to develop a master plan and design concept for a post-natal retreat and senior community in Helen Mayo Park.

The interactions of post-natal mothers, their children, the elderly, and families creates a nurturing community of interaction, sharing of knowledge, in supporting one another in their current stages of life.
At the final stage of life those who choose can be buried beneath a tree which serves as memoriam, as well as contribute to creating the environment which they have spent their final moments in. A shift to a new cycle of life.

UniSA City West Campus urban planning
Unifying city west campus through pedestrianisation, enabling porosity. Inspired from superblocks, Permeable Campus takes multiple strategies for pedestrianisation, the integration of porosity within the fabric of the campus, and southern expansion of the campus in order to connect and incentivise usage of outdoor space within the densely packed framework of the campus.
The intention is to create an innovation district which extends the educational space past the buildings which currently hold them, reinvigorating the atmosphere, culture, and image of the university.

VOIDS IN DENSITY & TRANSITIONAL SPACES
This development unifies the connection between the current mixture of buildings that are densely spaced together, making the spaces usable not just by service vehicles, enabling outdoor student usage to create the campus culture. Campus culture is developed majority through the students which occupy the space.
The spaces of transition are the voids within the density of the campus, these are joined together through the links which shows the developed and improved porosity of the site, these spaces of transition/voids are the inbetween spaces which bridges the gaps between the UniSA structures, and acts as publically accessable, multi program central components of the ‘superblocks’ This spaces serves as outdoor teaching/ learning spaces which blends with the interior of the new structures, as the concept of the innovation district.

Pedestrianisation of Hindley Street and the placement of pavilions and landscape seating arrangements creates the required engagement to develop an outdoor campus culture, intended on innovating through outdoor education by creating permeability with indoor & outdoor space, a unified campus, and creating presence in the city.
