Fandom Day

For 10 years rebel fandom forces of JC have battled the imperial forces of the empire. Several thousand Fandoms have been dispatched from all over the galaxy to converge at JCCA to celebrate the 10-year reign of Fandom.

A new Mandalorian fandom threatens this peaceful alliance and celebration. Once enemies of the Jedi, will they reconcile the past and join forces with the rebels.

Despatched from Mandalore, warrior and bounty hunter Nivag Wahsdarb, will represent his clan and attempt to broker a treaty with the Jedi.

PJ Day

On Monday 26 June the Student Council held a JC Community Fundraiser. This initiative was created to raise funds to support our College community. Students were invited to wear pajamas or cozy casual wear for a gold coin donation. We celebrated the day with a lunchtime concert.

Coupled with this, the Student Council worked with the John Curtin P&C to run a Bake Sale. We really appreciate your support for the bake sale, which was able to raise over $1,500!

Congratulations to the Student Council and P&C for facilitating this event, the first of its kind in recent College memory.

Culture Fest

In Week 2 we celebrated diversity and culture at the College with our annual Culture Fest! The week included daily quizzes, a College World Cup Tournament, canteen specials and a heritage / socio-cultural dress day!

The canteen whipped up dishes from a variety of cuisines including Indian, German, Chinese, Greek and Spanish to the delight of staff and students.

P&C Day

On the 19th of May we celebrated JCCA’s amazing P&C to thank them for contributing so much to our College. P&C volunteers are a shining light within school communities; their dedication and passion helping to provide our students with the outstanding educational experience they deserve.

P&C Day coincides with National Volunteer Week. We are so grateful for our Parents and Citizens who volunteer their time and energy to making our College a great place to be. You are #TheChangeMakers and we couldn’t do it without you!

P&C initiatives include the Year 7 Orientation Day, sponsoring a Year 12 prize, delivering the parent conversation series, applying for grants, and providing advocacy on behalf of the school community to create a better future, just to name a few!

Connect with our P&C today via the App or the Facebook group!

JC World Cup

Like any Football World Cup, the JC World Cup was full of close games, penalty shoot outs, controversy and, I am hoping, some fun!

Next year I hope to see four teams each in a junior and senior division. The world cup is about embracing all students in the school. Back to the final - Japan defeated England in a thriller 3-2, the go ahead goal was scored with 10 seconds left on the clock.

Congratulations to Japan pictured below with their World Cup trophy. Thank you to England for making it a close game.

A huge thank you to students Oskar Dombroski and Hannah Chambers for their lead roles in organising the games every day and to the umpires, those brave, brave umpires that ensure we get to have a safe game, free from injury.

Mothers Day

This year’s Mother’s Day video featured our very own mother daughter duo - Ms. Mee and Maggie! Ms.Mee is a maths teacher at the College and Maggie is a Gifted and Talented Year 12 Drama student. If you missed it check it out here/below. https://www.facebook. com/reel/626960515982712

This is part of the Mental & Physical Health project that Technologies is leading in partnership with several other schools and industry connections.

Biggest Morning Day

This year The JC Staff Association was able to reach their fundraising goal and raise over $650 for the Cancer Council by hosting an event for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. Thank you to everyone who contributed, donated and participated for helping raise vital funds for those impacted by cancer.
