The Roots & Shoots Club at JCCA is about choosing to make the world a better place. Choosing projects to help animals, people and the environment. Roots & Shoots founded by Dr Jane Goodall empowers youth to be conscious and proactive in supporting humanitarian and environmental needs both locally and globally. Members develop the skills to be compassionate leaders, empowering them to take action stemming from knowledge and understanding.
Term two has seen us completing many of the plans we made at the beginning of the year. The bike repair station that was obtained by a Your Move grant is now operational for students and staff to use near the canteen. We made sustainable gifts of seed bombs for Mother’s Day and helped Year 12 Cyber Cert students with their sustainable action plans. Our beloved newly blue Pincushion Hakea now dubbed the “Message Tree” had its first display to Celebrate NAIDOC week and members joined Bottle Top Hill to promote Plastic Free July.
