The Shakee Massacre

by Liang Ting-ming

Painter of the Revolution

—Liang Ting-ming—

How well we remember the revolutionary forces’ rapier advance north, how our silent hopes became fervent pride, how evil forces hid, fled, or were rooted out, how we hailed our brave army! Behold the work of a front-line artist. Mr. Liang was a close associate of ours a few years ago. He is a man driven by revolution. In Canton he created huge propaganda paintings. The one above depicts the 1925 Shakee Massacre. How it fans the flames of vengeance! Lost in Huang Ch’i-hsiang’s uprising last year, we have only this photo to remember it. On the left we see Mr. M Liang in Nanking, painting “Blood of Our Tsinan Compatriots.” (Yeh Ch’ien-yü)

For honest effort, qualitiy materials, and fine printing, we think our first ten numbers have satisfied in full. Now for just one dollar you can obtain a deluxe ten-issue hardbound compilation. Quantities limited. Order by mail. Papa
