Having earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, John previously served as a Finance & Air Defense Artillery Officer in the United States Army with an alternate specialty in Operations Research Systems Analysis (ORSA). Accredited Buyer's Representative® / ABR® The Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®) designation is designed for real estate buyer agents who focus on working directly with buyer‐clients at every stage of the home‐buying process. If you are a first time homebuyer you may want to find an ABR designated agent. They are specially trained to work with buyers through every step of the home‐buyer process from mortgage to closing.

Certified Residential Specialist® / CRS® The CRS designation is the highest credential awarded to residential sales agents. On average, CRS designees sell three times more homes annually than non‐designee REALTORS®. More Sales = More Experience! The prestigious CRS designation is awarded to REALTORS who have completed advanced professional training in marketing, finance, negotiation & real estate investment. They have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement in residential real estate sales. Less than 4% of all REALTORS® have earned the Certified Residential Specialist designation.

Military Relocation Professional® / MRP® NAR's Military Relocation Professional certification focuses on educating real estate professionals about working with current and former military service members to find housing solutions that best suit their needs and take full advantage of military benefits. The CLHMS designation is awarded to agents with documented sales performance in the top 10% of their market. Graduate, REALTOR® Institute® / GRI® REALTORS® with the GRI designation have in‐depth training in legal and regulatory issues, technology, professional standards and the sales process. Earning the designation is a way to stand out to prospective buyers and sellers as a professional with expertise in these areas. John earned the GRI designation thru extension courses taught at the University of Virginia (UVA), Charlottesville, Virginia.

Short Sales & Foreclosure Resource® / SFR®

The SFR® certification teaches real estate professionals to work with distressed sellers and with finance, tax and legal professionals who can help them; qualify sellers for short sales, develop a short sale package, negotiate with lenders, limit risk and protect buyers. Short sales are different than typical home sales because they deal directly with financial institutions. SFR certified agents are experienced at negotiating these types of transactions and are trained to work with finance, tax and legal professionals on behalf of distressed sellers. SFR certified agents are experienced to assist buyers that are considering purchasing a short sale or bank‐owned “REO” property. There are countless pitfalls on both sides of this type of transaction and having a REALTOR® who is knowledgeable in short sales and foreclosure properties can save consumers tremendous amounts of time and money. The SFR® Designation is awarded through the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR).


SRES® designees are certified senior specialists and astute to the financial and emotional challenges senior clients face when they sell a long-held family home. SRES® designees not only can create a customized approach to marketing and selling your property, but they also can work with you to explore your housing options to ensure that your next home best serves your current and future needs. Such certified specialists have special knowledge about everything from reverse mortgages and the importance of universal design to the uses of pensions, 401k accounts and IRAs in real estate transactions. They'll also help you steer clear of loan schemes and scams that victimize aged 50+ borrowers. And when you need help from other professionals, SRES® designees can tap their network and put you in touch with qualified home inspectors, movers, attorneys, CPAs and other experts. SRES® designees have all the resources and knowledge to simplify the transaction and eliminate the anxiety of selling your home. This certification is earned by REALTORS® who facilitate the buying, selling or management of properties for investment, retirement or vacation in a resort or recreational destination. If you have a destination property, consider working with a RSPS certified agent to manage the buying, selling or management process. They have training specific to managing investment, retirement, resort and vacation destination properties.

The Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB) designation is designed for experienced owners, brokers, managers and supervisors to raise professional standards, strengthen individual and office performance, and sharpen expertise in brokerage management. Since 1968, CRB has represented the highest level of professional achievement in real estate brokerage management. Recognition as a member of an elite, worldwide community of industry leaders – only 3% of REALTORS® have met the designation’s advanced eligibility and training requirements.
