The proposed development is named New Clark City Executive Village, a 103-hectare plot of land located outside the New Clark City Development. A 20-meter national road separates the New Clark City from the proposed New Clark City Executive Village.Designing the subdivision planning equipped to be aware of the socio-cultural background of the location gives value to the project. A well-designed subdivision may provide tremendous benefits to the community. In contrast, poor design may have major effects on the urban environment, society, and economy. Furthermore, the initiative would teach the community to recognize the improved quality of life that smart urban design can provide.

The proposed development is named Proposed New Polytechnic University of the Philippines, a 10.71-hectare plot of land located on the same site of the said university, the A. Mabini Campus. A 10-meter road separates the university from a railroad track of the Philippine National Railways and the Pasig River lies on the other side of the site. Designing this university would need the planning to consider the socio-cultural background of the location that gives more depth to the meaning of the project. In addition to that, the design would need to be able to adapt to the future improvements needed by the university to cater the needs of its students. Further more, the goal of this planning is to further improve the user experience in the university to create a community that leads towards an improved university life of the students.

Allocation Site Entrance The obelisk was utilized as a reference point. It is connected to the lign of sight comming from the main entry. This would allow the vista to follow the axis, creating a sense of foreground and backgrounf within the site. In which the obelisk divides the site into quadrants .

ZoningAxis

Each quadrant represents the new zoning pro gram of the site that will create a concentra tion of activities within the university premise. Phase 1 is allocated for sport facilities. Phase 2 was utilized fot academic zone. The Phase 3 has the library building and dormitories. Lastly, the Phase 4 is a space where the public can access the area. The site is composed of two entrances, the main entrance where students can enter and leave the campus as well as the vehicles. The east entrance of the site is designed to cater acvtivities such as concert and programs that is located at the oval. The east entrance can also be accessed by students, especially those who are residing at the dormitory.

Hierarchy of Road Campus Identity Future Expansion Road hierarchy is then established at the site, a 10-meter carriageway will serve as the ma jor road and shall cater to the catwalk. The proposed design is planned to be a walkable campus, therefore a 2-meter wide sidwalk pro vision shall cater to the large volume of pedes trians entering the university premise.

Activism if inherent part of P.U.P. students. Pupians are politically and socially charged, and this character is what the design intends to express with the architecture of the campus. A space for popeye was provided in the site. It is a space where speech can be democratized and the voice of the students can prevail with more dominance A large portion of space is dedicated for future campus expansion. The lack of green spaces is a prevelent issue in P.U.P., therefore the linear park is repurposed as a walkable park while the green open spaces shall serve as a literal lung at the heart of the campus

Bulwagang Balagtas

The old bulwagang balagtas in Ninoy Aquino Library and Learning Resource Center, situated at the fourth floor of the building functions to accommodate several activities such as seminar, stage plays, and various programs. Problems of the existing bulwagang balagtas inlcudes; im proper installation of acoustic panels, improper lighting, and a lack of staggered seating which would be ideal for speech intelligibility and comfortable sight for the audience. The proposed new bulwagang balagtas responds to the aforementioned problems. Staggered seating with an 8 degrees slope is applied as it is the most ideal sloping for an aduitorium theatre. Reflective materials such as wood is applied on the walls and ceilings for a much more effective distribution of sound. Sound absorption is also applied which would absorb the sound and have an ideal reverbation time.

The illumintion calculation using the lu men or light flux method influence d the auditorium lighting design. L.E.D. lighting with its energy efficiency and longer lifes pan, was the top priority for incorporating sustainable lighting into the design. A tube of light was used as a lighting strip while being diffused to ensure adequate lighting . The number of T8 L.E.D. tube lights used in the design corresponds to the calculated number of fixtures required to illuminate the auditorium. Apart from the seating area and stage, a pin light fixture was suf ficient to provide adequate lighting in the smaller spaces.

Acoustic Ceiling Diagram

The form of the ceiling design reflects sound movement evenly across the audi torium seating area. The ceiling material induces sound reflection, allowing sound to move freely throught the auditorium. With the angled orientation of the ceiling, the law of reflection was taken into ac count when projecting the possible path of the sound. The ceiling’s convex surfaces divert sound to the middle of the seating area of the usefeul sound direction that is distibuted evenly across the audience.

Sond Absorption-in some areas of the auditorium’s wall, there are acoustic panels.

Sound Insulation- double wall creates air cavity which serves as sound insulation. The sound insulation is usually applied as a method of soundproofing. A large cavity of air usually introduced in this system, which performs better than the smaller air cavity. Generally, a large air cavity performs better as sound insulation than two smaller air cavities

P. 24

More of a focus is placed on a room’s mid-and high-frequency range via acoustic panels. The acoustic panels are designed to absorb sound which lowers reso nance but it does not entirely removes it. In addition, it controls and minimizes noise, eliminate slap echo, and control comb filtering in a room.

Sound Travel -to prevent unwanted back reflections, parallelism between the opposing sound reflective boundary surfaces should be avoided.

Arcadia: Proposed Valenzuela General Hospital Arcadia Project:

The proposed Valenzuela General Hospital is a solution to the rising health concerns of Valenzu ela city. In which it will replace the old Valenzuela City Emergency Hospital, a primary care institution with a tertiary level hospital equipped with 300 beds. The paper shows the design considerations and solutions suitable for designing the general hospital. The effective and suit able circulation patterns on the spaces are stated along with how the spaces should interact with each other. Since the structure’s main function is for the health and welfare of people, provisions and restrictions are carefully followed in space programming which mirrors the behavioral pat tern of the users. This study also presents factors that are applicable to the proposed structure based on the current covid-19 pandemic.
