This palace, grand as kings’ desire, Above the verdant plain, Its pomp and power kindled awe’s bright fire, A seat of might.
Above the fields and factories where ordinary folk, With sweat and tears fed the pageantry and pride, The ploughmen bent beneath the sun, The weavers’ looms spun cloth with gold, Others broke the rocks that built the towers. And the miner dug for jewels — All.
Their weary work, unthanked, and never done.

The contrast between the grandeur of a noble house and the unseen labour of common folk who sustain its wealth and privilege.
