This newsletter and website is a campaign to understand the importance of energy and energy byproducts. It started in 2010 with a letter to President Obama’s Science Advisor, John Holdren. See letter here. JH’s photo is left.

Holdren claims that use of fossil fuels causes catastrophic global cooling, catastrophic global warming, catastrophic climate change, and catastrophic climate disruption. All contradictions in a span of 50 years. These are aimed at enabling him and his colleagues to influence the world.

He is against many forms of nuclear power. The only nuclear energy technology he apparently supports is present-day light water reactors, which he questions, “Are they safe enough?” They are!

There are more anti-fossil fuel and anti-nuclear-energy alarmists around the world starting with the Sierra Club, the Natural Resources Defense Council, 350.org and politicians who work with them: here, here, here.

Fossil fuels and nuclear power are responsible for two of the most important advances in history: 1) vastly improved economies and 2) increased life span for many from 30 - 40 to over 70 years.

Nothing is clean or safe enough for anti-modern-energy alarmists except unreliable, unpredictable wind, solar or nuclear energy that uses only 1% of the potential energy from the uranium that comes out of the ground.

Everyone interested in protecting our wonderful modern lifestyle supported by fossil fuels and nuclear power should read this newsletter.

What the United States does to make nuclear power die, has a tremendous impact on other countries who want nuclear power. Mainly, the USA could have the largest capability to build new plants and train owner/operators and local industry.

1) ENERGY AND BY-PRODUCTS Anti-fossil-fuel and anti-nuclear power elected officials, organizations and followers have worked since 1970 to get use of these energy resources stopped by 2070 or sooner. If that happens, standards of living will plummet. Life span will shorten to 30 or 40 years. People will suffer and die in quantities never seen before. This must be prevented. Unfortunately, a lot of people don’t care, and many nuclear advocates focus on claiming that nuclear can solve an unrealistic man-made global warming catastrophe.

2) RADIATION The universe is bathed in radiation of all kinds everywhere. Fear mongers ignore that and want to control your life.

Norwegian Bio-Physics Professor Thormod Henriksen and his team of scientists at the University of Oslo have written a wonderful book, “Radiation and Health.” There are 14 easy to read, easy to understand chapters.

From the beginning of life on earth, all living things have been exposed to radiation. Life started and developed in spite of, or possibly because of, radiation.

Radiation fear monger, Helen Caldicott demands that planet Earth be free of man-made radiation. She wants solar panels on every home and wind turbines all across the landscape.

“Nuclear industry proponents often assert that low doses of radiation (eg below 100mSV) produce no ill effects and are therefore safe. But, as the US National Academy of Sciences BEIR VII report has concluded, no dose of radiation is safe, however small, including background radiation; exposure is cumulative and adds to an individual's risk of developing cancer.” No scientific basis for Caldicott’s book except fear mongering.

4) YOUTH Education of youth is key to the future of nuclear medicine and nuclear power. While students in western cultures stay away from school to protest the falsehood about catastrophic man-made global warming, students in China pursue excellent opportunities for education in nuclear science and technology. 5) PEOPLE Some faiths claim that humans are created in the image of an almighty and benevolent God. Unfortunately, many people are not. Humans and their immediate predecessors have been killing each other for more than 400,000 years.

Nuclear power was proposed as an Atoms for Peace Program. Should nuclear plants be designed based on the fact that humans fight all-outwars? It is easy to replace bombed out fossil fuel plants. Bombed nuclear plants would be a mess. War and extreme terrorism resistant power plants can provide essential power during and after hostilities.

6) ENVIRONMENT Who wants the oceans to be fished out, marine life destroyed, coastal areas filled with offshore wind turbines and oil and gas rigs, the land occupied by apartments, condos, skyscrapers, shopping centers, parking lots, ten lane highways filled with crawling traffic and mega-farms? No countryside, no unspoiled forests, no wild rivers, no birds, no wildlife?
