Without fossil fuels, hydro or nuclear, bathrooms are like this. They are miserable in the middle of the night with snow and ice on the ground. Today, rugged back-country outdoors enthusiasts struggle getting to the outhouse in deep snow in the middle of the night when the temperature is minus 20 Celsius. But they have battery powered flashlights to find the way that weren’t available before fossil fuels.

This newsletter will help you have a better life with nuclear energy, nuclear science, nuclear medicine, and fossil fuels and their many by-products. You must protect them. Otherwise, anti-nuclear and anti-fossil fuel organizations and their vote seeking politicians will take them away.

There are seven short sections with links to information in allaboutenergy.net and other sources: 1) ENERGY AND BY-PRODUCTS In this issue, we focus on South Africa. It is a country of many cultures, but mainly blacks and whites. They have tremendous coal resources and outstanding, long experience with nuclear power and radioisotope production serving nuclear medicine around the world. The wind energy lobby from Europe is pressuring the South African government to opt for very dilute, extremely variable, unreliable wind energy. The South African government like governments in the United States and Germany, etc. falling for it. South Africa has many capable leaders in the energy, radioisotope and economy sectors. See Kelvin Kemm, Leon Louw, Rob Jeffrey, Andrew Kenny, Geert de Vries for a few examples. There are many more excellent South African leaders. South Africa must not fall under the blades of the wind turbines. Wind energy destroys economies.

2) RADIATION The universe is bathed in radiation. Anti-nuclear energy and anti-nuclear medicine alarmists insist that we not be exposed to radiation. They want us to go without benefits of nuclear energy and low dose radiation. They want us to live in a radiation free cocoon. 4) YOUTH In the summer between high school and college, Peyton Williams volunteered to study PLENTIFUL ENERGY – THE STORY OF THE INTEGRAL FAST REACTOR: The complex history of a simple reactor technology by Charles Till and Yoon Chang. See Peyton’s report, click here.

This was an incredible accomplishment in a student’s summer between high school and college. He went on to be the top chemistry/pre-med student in his class in college and is now working on a Ph.D. in chemistry at Yale. We should do our best and take advantage of all opportunities.

5) PEOPLE Nuclear science, medicine and engineering are professions where women excelled from the beginning in the late 1800s with Marie Curie in France.

Meredith Angwin is a retired physical chemist and one of the first women to be a project manager at Electric Power Research Institute. She is an avid promoter of nuclear power and environmental protection. Recently she wrote this about wind, biomass, hydro and nuclear: “Renewables require us to harvest energy from forests (biomass), air (wind) and rivers (hydro-electric). With nuclear we leave rivers to be rivers, not hydro plants. We leave forests to be forests, not biomass farms. We reserve high ridges for soaring eagles, not wind turbines,” 6) ENVIRONMENT Respect for the environment is essential to humans having a wonderful life.

We must preserve wildlife habitat and not cause precious species to dwindle to near extinction. When we do this, animals, birds, marine life thrive and bounce back. Once they are gone, they are gone forever.

Professor Fritz Vahrenolt, with degrees in chemistry is Chairman of the Deutsche Wildtier Stiftung (German Wildlife Trust). He is Co-Founder and Co-Author of Kalte Sonne, The Neglected Sun. He is an advocate for real science about carbon dioxide from fossil fuels and real science about what 7

controls Earth’s climate – mostly the sun. He is strongly opposed to wind and solar energy being forced on the German people. Others, German politicians and scientists with a political agenda – Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, claim that use of fossil fuels is causing catastrophic global warming and sea level rise. They are forcing Germany to abandon fossil fuels and nuclear. That is very unfortunate, especially for a country with such excellent history in science, medicine and engineering.

Germany is playing right into the hands of their potential enemies.
