Macro comments on climate science theories

January 23, 2025

These comments have been inspired by all the publications about climate science posted on the website: allaboutenergy.net. They are broad comments that many people can understand, not details of any particular approach or individual that most can not relate to.

1) Weather and climate are dependent on the shape of the planet. The Earth is nearly spherical. Some studies of Earth’s climate use a flat surface always facing the sun to represent the actual sphere that is rotating daily, tilting-on-axis, orbiting the Sun with vast ranges of temperature daily, seasonally, annually and other periodicities ranging from a few years to hundreds of thousands of years. Climate on objects with the same mass as Earth but other shapes (cube, tetrahedron, cylinder, flat plate, etc.) would be different from Earth’s.

2) Weather and climate depend on the varying energy output of the sun.

3) Weather and climate are dependent on energy from within Earth’s core escaping to the surface and atmosphere via the escape of gases, magma, and particulate matter due to seismic activity.

4) Weather and climate are dependent on temporal and spatial variation of all forms of energy in the atmosphere (thermal, kinetic, potential, electrical, chemical, etc.).

5) Weather and climate are dependent on the processes that cause iceages and inter-ice-age periods.

6) Weather and climate are dependent on gravity, atmospheric

temperature gradients, and the Earth’s rotation for heat transport via advection on radial, latitudinal, and longitudinal lines.”

7) Climate depends on vast quantities of water on Earth, not just water vapor in the atmosphere and a few meters in the oceans.

8) Some climate studies fill pages with “forests of equations.” These studies may be incomplete representations of weather and climate described in (1) to (7). Few people can evaluate the completeness and correctness of these equations. Fewer can solve the equations. Still fewer have studied the solutions of the equations to compare those results with daily, seasonal, annual, and ice age variations of weather.

9) Some studies use amazingly simplified one-world averages of a few climate parameters. Simple mathematics explains that the results of these studies can not properly relate to the infinity of space and time varying input parameters to calculate the averages in the first place.

10) Studies focusing on spectrum analyses of CO2 and other minor “greenhouse” gases miss parameters influencing weather and climate and miss the fact that Earth’s atmosphere doesn’t behave like air in a glass greenhouse. Governments and the public should avoid energy policies and climate change decisions based on studies of CO2 and other small percentage gases that interact with infrared radiation coming off Earth’s surfaces. Water in gas, liquid, solid state and clouds play a major role in weather as do the shape of the Earth, gravity and energies in the atmosphere, not just IR and CO2, etc.

11) Unprofessional behavior and technically inadequate greenhouse theory of minor gases are a disappointment to true science.

12) It is a crime to use greenhouse climate theory to deny use of fossil fuels and their by-products to mankind and reduce the world’s population by 75 percent so that oligarchs can have the Earth.
