Now the horror dreamers also have an icon, the sixteen-year-old Greta, who skips school consistently on Friday in the manmade greenhouse against the end of the world and pulls the good part of Europe in their Sitzblockadebann. Green is the hope, the hope for a better world.

Nobody who does not want to be green today. Even the so-called established parties join in the chorus of the savior of the world. But because salvation can only have a meaningful effect in the face of destruction, the global catastrophe must first be 1

proclaimed. Climatologists who can not reasonably predict the weather for more than five days are bulletproof at longer intervals of 20 to 150 years. Long-term forecasts are difficult to refute even in the short term.

Their climate models work less accurately backwards, which is no wonder. Main reason for the world murderous CO 2The rise is indeed also the industrialization - as former climate change logically have had other reasons. Now it may be unfortunate that CO 2 , produced by the burning of fossil fuels since industrialization, has increased the amount of CO 2 in the atmosphere from 0.03 to 0.04%. Whether that will cause a global temperature increase of one, two, three, or even 10 degrees depends on the climate model and the ingredients that experts feed into their computers. Whether the results then announce the impending doomsday or not is above all a matter of belief in one's own models. What you're typing in at the front usually comes out the back.

But faith is known to move mountains, especially when it seems to be scientifically accompanied. The fact that the different activities of the sun could also play their part in climate change does not fit into the picture and is rather repressed. It must be the sinful person who receives the punishment of the climate god, just as in the thirteenth century, in the face of the plague, the whistlers created a spiritual mass movement to save the world from the wrath of God. Still, it's better to do the right thing for the wrong reasons than the wrong one for the right reasons. It is clear that fossil fuels are limited. Therefore, the saving of coal, gas and oil is right and necessary. And if the rising prices are not enough for some people to stifle their consumption, the belief in the apocalypse should help them to save. But it does not make things any better if the wrong thing is done for the right reasons. A look at the official numbers sometimes helps. Decisive size is the annual consumption of primary energy, and looks in Germany (calculated in the standard of comparison Petajoule) for 2018 as follows: Mineral oil: 34.3 percent - away with it, best by abolishing the car. Importing oil from countries with dubious governments and obsolete gender roles is also to be stopped. Just like dirty oil from the tar sands of Canada.

Natural gas: 23.7 percent - every purchase of natural gas supports Putin - that is to replace it with liquid gas from the USA, which, however, can not be obtained by fracking.

Hard coal: 10.0 percent - exit is already decided thing.

The great green fantasy of clean energy supply has become the nationwide business model of the gigantic rip-off of subsidies. And these are paid by the consumer. No wonder that Germany is at the top of the European electricity price. The effectiveness of the wind turbines is rather lukewarm, highly subsidized and highly inefficient.

Wind energy contributes just 3.1 percent (2018, compared to 2.8 percent in 2017) to primary energy consumption. This requires nearly 30,000 windmills today. With a total area of the Federal Republic of Germany of 357,386 square kilometers, it is already a mill today on almost 12 square kilometers. And they do not always turn around - a huge reserve of conventional power plants has to be kept on standby. Or you just have to import the nuclear power from France or the Czech Republic. A real air number, paid by moon prices for electricity.

If you wanted - with today's technology - the proportion of wind energy increased approximately tenfold, you would need 300 000 wind turbines, at 100 percent wind energy so about one million. That would be on every square kilometer of floor space in Germany just under three wind turbines; in agricultural areas, forests, mountains, lakes and cities, everywhere. Based on the population of a good 80 million German citizens, a wind turbine would supply the energy for every 80 of them. [...]

But one thing is certain: the citizens and the industry are being warned in the weekly rhythm to "finally deliver". What, is not very clear. It only gets expensive. Just as the energy turnaround is anyway a bonfire of the money burning, whereby fortunately no new CO 2 is released, because one flares no bank notes, but only book money. This is also much faster.

Meanwhile, the 120 largest coal companies in the world have just under 1,400 coal plants in 59 countries in planning or even under construction. 83 new nuclear power plants are planned worldwide. Of all these, then Germany can eventually get its clean energy - the main thing is the beautiful appearance is preserved - and it is firmly believed.

Greens are allowed to dream, that's part of their DNA. They are also allowed to shudder in apocalyptic visions. But when the rest of the political class dreams with it, it gets serious. And Greta's contagious panic becomes our problem.
