It is the poster child for many other countries wanting, needing nuclear energy. The vagaries of democratic elections and political leaders may cause this to slip away for a while. This is happening in other countries, including the United States, Germany and Switzerland. Only nuclear power will support a modern world for the long term. China and Russia know that and nothing is going to stop them from having this essential energy source. South Africa’s two unit, 1,860 MWe Koeberg nuclear power station. South Africa is ready for more nuclear power to maintain a strong economy. They have excellent scientific and engineering leadership and healthy technical industry base.
