'Protect our common home', world's bishops ask climate change conference ================================================ Note: Organizations and individuals claim that there is 97% consensus among "climate scientists" that catastrophic man-made global warming is occurring and will get much worse. The Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy says that National Academies of Science around the world agree that use of fossil fuels is causing serious man-made global warming. Now the Catholic Church is taking a position that the world should stop using fossil fuels in all forms by the year 2050. Some people and cities are more vulnerable than others to climate change. Typically they live in areas very close to sea level and where there was marginal fresh water for human needs. In most cases people moved rather than expect a government or world governments to solve the problem, so they could stay where they are. Below are excerpts from the Catholic News Agency about use of fossil fuels. Do these climate change claims and recommendations by the Catholic Church meet standards of science and acknowledge the tremendous benefits of fossil fuels? This website presents documents on the side of the Alarmists, including the Catholic Church and on the side of the Skeptics. Readers should decide for themselves what needs to be done and what shouldn't be done. Where should children learn science and study solutions for the most important problems facing humanity and the environment? ================================================ Vatican City, Oct 27, 2015 / (CNA/EWTN News).- Negotiators of a global agreement on climate change must take effective action to protect creation, leading bishops from around the world said on Monday. “This agreement must put the common good ahead of national interests. It is essential too that the negotiations result in an enforceable agreement that protects our common home and all its inhabitants,” said the bishops’ Oct. 26 appeal. The bishops’ appeal addressed negotiators at the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference, which will take place in Paris in Nov. 30 – Dec. 11. The bishops said negotiators must secure an agreement that is “fair, legally binding and truly transformational,” Vatican Radio reports.
