The great swindle of the wind turbine
By Michel Gay On February 6, 2014
Ruinous for the nation, but extremely profitable for many special interests, disastrous to the trade balance, not even capable of reducing CO2 emissions and generally built on falsehoods, the massive expansion of wind power, including in France , is a resounding scandal. It is not unusual that the combination of industrial interests, astute businessmen, even simple crooks, reaches to gain large-scale products perfectly useless, often with a wealth of inventiveness, opportunism and organization. It is not trivial, however, that on behalf of the need to reduce fossil fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, the massive installation of wind turbines could be imposed on a continental scale as a major objective. A tour of legerdemain has also allowed to evacuate any consideration of the effectiveness of this operation, as well as any consideration of cost. In this case, the role of the European Commission was decisive. This study reveals the excessive weight gain in Brussels by the combination of a powerful lobby of environmental movements (with the active complicity of the mainstream media) and some industrial interests on an issue which is likely to condition for several decades the organization of the production of electricity and lifestyle in Europe. Today, although the warning signs of a breakup of the "wind bubble" is increasing in the world, the goal of tripling the current installed capacity by 2020 is not yet challenged by the European Commission. Beyond what might seem like a unusually large wastage, it is now the privileged position of France in the field of electricity generation which is at stake, on behalf of the alleged need for a hazy "energy transition ". The government aims at the removal of a third of nuclear power in France and a massive expansion of wind power. We recall that France produces cheap electricity which uses only 10% of fossil fuels, the rest being mainly supplied by nuclear power ( 75%) and dams ( 12%).
The bubble of wind power in the Western world. "Renewable energies must prove both their environmental and economic performance insertion. Wind turbines do not cross any of these conditions . "We can't best summarize the situation by this statement, 31 October 2012 , John Hayes, Minister of Industry of Great Britain . More than twenty years after its appearance in a few pilot countries (Germany , Denmark and Spain ) and after a decade of massive development in other countries, including France , it now has all the return experience necessary. In Europe, wind power exists only in the massive infusion of aid when he absolutely can not qualify as a new technique that should help launch for a good ten years. For homeowners, wind energy is a particularly profitable operation. Thanks to the law, they sell all their electricity to EDF at the subsidized price of 8.2 c₏ / kWh, while the market price is around 4 to 5 c₏ / kWh. But it still has no intrinsic profitability perspective . While it was justified by the need to reduce CO2 emissions (or, equivalently, the consumption of fossil fuels), none of the three countries mentioned above has obtained on this significant results.
