Market Dynamics Insights into the U.S. Housing Market In September 2023, the U.S. housing market experienced significant trends: • Home prices increased by 2.2% year-over-year, with a median sale price of $412,502.

• Home sales decreased by 17.6% year-over-year, with 412,280 homes sold.

• The national average 30-year fixed mortgage rate rose to 7.2%, up by 1.1 percentage points year-over-year.

• Housing supply decreased by 15.8%, with 1,504,689 homes for sale.

• 33.2% of homes sold above list price, indicating a competitive market.

• Migration trends show interest in states like Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Texas, with top destinations including Sacramento, Las Vegas, Orlando, Myrtle Beach, and Sarasota.
