LI E #7:
“It’s Just You A nd Jesus.” A Lesson From Saving Private Ryan
I have a confession to make: I like violence. As a little kid, I loved toy weapons. Guns, knives, swords...all fantastic entertainment. I loved playing football because it was the only time it was acceptable to hit other kids. Even after I became a Christian, violence has continued to intrigue me. Now I believe that a healthy fascination with violence is a good and natural thing that helps me protect my family from danger. But maybe it’s a bad thing that I need to “take off” (see Lie #6). Maybe I need to see a psychologist about it. I don’t know. I’m still working it out. All I’m saying is Maybe I need to that I like violence. see a psychologist Of course, I don’t play with toy guns anymore. I don’t even play football anymore. But, occasionally, I watch violence on TV. Stuff like UFC and war movies.
about it. I don’t know.
One of my favorite war movies is Saving Private Ryan. 165
