Introduction My name is Joe, also known as Tanza in-game. I am a Chief Data Scientist by profession and a moderate gamer by leisure. I obtained my Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2014 from West Virginia University and moved to Reno, NV for a job working in the energy analysis domain. By habit, I’m a natural engineer of sorts, with passions to discover how things work and a penchant for the pain of careful and extensive documentation of behaviors. This sort of habit spans into my game playing experience, and has led to the creation of this document.

About this Document This document, the Rich Compendium of Rich Veins in Guild Wars 2, is a guide that can be used as a reference for locating Rich Veins in Guild Wars 2. If you don’t know, Rich Veins are unlike normal mining nodes in the game which can only be struck three times (and sometimes a few extra as a random bonus). Rich Veins can be struck at least ten times, yielding approximately 3-4 times more than the typical mining node.

However, because Rich Veins are particularly more-yielding than their normal counterpart, they are much rarer to find in the game. Additionally, there are further constraints that limit their abuse. A brief comparison of each is provided: A normal mining node…

Can be struck three times or more.

Will replenish every two to four hours.

Is very common.

Can spawn almost anywhere on the map.

A Rich Vein…

Can be struck ten times or more.

Will replenish after about 24 hours.

Is very rare.

Can spawn in a set of very few possible locations.

The last point is particularly attracting for miners who wish to farm Rich Veins. Since Rich Veins always spawn in just the same small set of locations, it can be easy to learn those spots and incorporate them into a route which can be used to efficiently gather a lot of resources in a small amount of time.

Note that players can return to previously mined nodes and Rich Veins with a different character to harvest any nodes or Rich Veins again.

This guide is dedicated to identifying all those possible locations in each map. A few more notes: - Maps have a set of guaranteed or permanent locations where a Rich Vein will always appear.

- Maps have a set of possible or non-guaranteed locations where a Rich Vein can possibly appear.

- Maps have a predetermined amount of Rich Veins of each kind that exist on each map.

Brief Strategies Let me take a few minutes to talk about some general strategies. Many of the Rich Veins located in this document are strategically located so that several locations can be checked without actually visiting the location and wasting the time identifying where they are. Some Rich Veins may be located a very large distance from any Waypoint, and as such, it may be a valuable investment to first check if the Rich Vein is there before actually embarking on the journey towards it.

In some cases, notes are made in order to facilitate this kind of thinking.

Additionally, many of the Rich Veins are along or nearby to permanent/guaranteed Rich Veins. It is generally wise to first visit the guaranteed Rich Vein of each map first, before checking for the locations of the other remaining Rich Veins.

Furthermore, unless a map is constantly changing, you can likely return to the map on a different character to mine all the Rich Veins from the same locations without having to rediscover them all again.

Lastly, some of the Rich Vein locations may be impractical to include along your route. They are included in this document for completeness. For example, some Rich Veins are guarded by Champions, which may make it impossible for your character to mine unless you go with a party to first slay the Champion. Additionally, many Rich Veins are guarded by a small battalion of normal enemies or by a Veteran creature. These are moderate challenges that may be cloying to weaker players. Whenever a Champion or Veteran or other particular challenge is present at a Rich Vein, a note is made of it.

Snowden Drifts Rich Iron Veins 1) *Permanent* [Snowhawk Landing Waypoint] Go south along the ridge and into a cave inhabited by Polar Bears, including one Veteran.

2) *Possible* [Torstvedt Homestead Waypoint] Go east to the spot of land afflicted by Jormag’s make-it-deep-blue curse.

3) *Possible* [Lornar’s Gate Waypoint] Go southwest a little ways and you’ll see this rich vein in plain sight.

4) *Possible* [Lornar’s Gate Waypoint] Go southwest, but further southwest of the Mennerheim POI, to the area just beyond the entrance of the Dredge tunnels. Which coincides with a rich silver vein. Alternatively, go southeast from [Podaga Steading Waypoint].

5) *Possible* [Torstvedt Homestead Waypoint] Go south to the area between the pair of bridges near Jotun’s Vista.

Rich Silver Veins 1) *Possible* [Valslake Waypoint] Go west and then north to wrap around inside the cave just north of the waypoint. Inside is a Veteran guarding the rich vein.

2) *Possible* [Lornar’s Gate Waypoint] Go southwest, but further southwest of the Mennerheim POI, to the area just beyond the entrance of the Dredge tunnels. This coincides with a rich iron vein. Alternatively, go southeast from [Podaga Steading Waypoint].

3) *Possible* [Snowdrift Haven Waypoint] Go southwest along the path. At the fork in the paths, you’ll see the vein at the bottom of a small overhang as you approach it.

4) *Possible* [Isenfall Waypoint] Go east of the waypoint a short ways, just across the river/Lake.

5) *Possible* [Reaver’s Waypoint] Go west by southwest to the Svannijem Hold POI. South of that POI is where the rich vein is located.

Lornar’s Pass There are two rich iron veins.

Rich Iron 1) *Permanent* [Ice Devil’s Waypoint] Go north, through the caves. Turn left at the end, where Korritikkr spawns for an event, then climb the wooden cat walks up to the rich vein, guarded by a Veteran.

2) *Possible* [Lamentation Waypoint]. Go south, following the eastern walls south to the POI by the rich vein.

3) *Possible* [Lamentation Waypoint]. Go southwest, or east from the possible vein #2. Climb up the slope on the eastern side of the canyon, which leads to an overhang above the western cliffs. Jump across the gap to reach the rich vein.

4) *Possible* [Lamentation Waypoint]. Go southwest, and up the slope along the way to possible vein #3. Instead of crossing the chasm, turn right (east) into the tunnel where you can see a rich vein guarded by a handful of Dredge.

5) *Possible* [Guutra’s Homestead Waypoint]. Go just a short ways to the south and then west. The jump to the small ledge on the opposite side of the small crag is not a trivial one.

6) *Possible* [Thunderhorns Waypoint] Go south, and you’ll see it to the west near tunnels guarded by Dredge.

This vein coincides as a rich silver vein (see rich silver #2).

7) *Possible* [Pinnacle Enclave Waypoint] Go east to the Dracon Steles POI. 8) *Possible* [False Lake Waypoint] Located beside TomTom and Beaker in the northwest and west of Mette’s Posting POI. To get here, you need to enter the Griffinrook Run area by swimming southeast of the False Lake Waypoint. A tiny bit north of the words “False Lake” on the big map, and to the west at the shoals of the lake, you can find a tiny cabin which seems to house a secret passage. To the top right (outside of that cabin) is the actual secret passage which will take you underneath the Griffonrook Run area. Find a teleporter to take you to a straw house at the top of the area. Rather than continuing onward as to complete the JP here, instead jump on top of the straw house and go northwest from there, dropping down below safely to a mesa where TomTom and Beaker reside.

There is one rich gold vein.

Rich Gold 1) *Possible* [Demon’s Maw Waypoint]. The vein is located south of the waypoint and can be viewed by approaching the edge of the cliff above the river. To reach it, go northeast and cross the bridge, then follow the path southwest to the vein, which is guarded by a Veteran Basilisk.

There are two rich silver veins.

Rich Silver 1) *Possible* [Durmand Priory Waypoint]. Go south and then enter the underground caverns (frost bats along the way) to make your way to the area beneath the Priory Archives POI. The rich vein is there, with a lot of nearby Ice Wurms. You cannot see this vein on the mini map until you reach the frozen area with the Ice Wurms.)

2) *Possible* [Thunderhorns Waypoint] Go south, and you’ll see it to the west near tunnels guarded by Dredge.

This vein coincides as a rich iron vein (see rich iron #6).

3) *Possible* [False Lake Waypoint] Located beside TomTom and Beaker in the northwest and west of Mette’s Posting POI. To get here, you need to enter the Griffinrook Run area by swimming southeast of the False Lake Waypoint. A tiny bit north of the words “False Lake” on the big map, and to the west at the shoals of the lake, you can find a tiny cabin which seems to house a secret passage. Dredgehaunt Cliffs There can be three rich iron veins.

Rich Iron 1) *Permanent* [Hessdallen Kenning Waypoint]. Go west and then north into the cave. Follow the cavern path to the northeast, staying on the ground level. You’ll find the rich vein past some spiders and guarded by a Veteran spider.

2) *Possible* [Hessdallen Kenning Waypoint]. After obtaining the permanent node (from #1), look to the northwest to see if there is a visible rich vein. To reach it, backtrack a bit and look for a slope to the upper levels, which leads to a path that crosses over top of where the permanent vein is.

3) *Possible* [Hessdallen Kenning Waypoint]. After obtaining the permanent node (from #1), there is yet another possible rich vein that you can find just a bit further west of #2. From the permanent vein, you’ll need to nudge to the western side of the nook to see it without venturing to it.

4) *Possible* [Grey Road Waypoint]. Go southwest. You can see the vein immediately from the waypoint if it is there.

5) *Possible* [Tribulation Waypoint]. Go southwest to the far corner, where you’ll see a possible rich vein if it is there.

6) *Possible* [Dociu Waypoint]. Go east, and then follow the wall south into a cave guarded by a Veteran. This rich vein can sometimes be Silver or Gold.

7) *Possible* [Travelen’s Waypoint] Go west, crossing the bridge and then go north then east along the mountain ledge to this rich vein.

8) *Possible* [Steelbrachen Waypoint] Go north along the path to the cave guarded by Skritt sentries. Follow the cave south to the Esjudare Scratch POI. South of the poi is where the rich vein lies. You can peek to see if this vein is here by using the Sorrows Embrace Waypoint.

There can be two rich gold veins.

Rich Gold 1) *Possible* [Nottowr Fault Waypoint] Go north a tiny ways.

2) *Permanent* [Steelbrachen Waypoint] Go south and follow the eastern mountain structure of Kapellenberg to its cavern mouth at the southwest side. Enter the cave and follow the path northwest to the rich vein, guarded by a Veteran.

3) *Possible* [Hessdallen Kenning Waypoint] Go west and then north into the cave. At the first juncture, turn left and you’ll see the rich vein nestled in the corner.

4) *Possible* [Nottowr Fault Waypoint] Go south, following the windy path to the POI and skill point.

5) *Possible* [Frostland Waypoint] Go northeast of the waypoint and into the small village encampment there.

Take the rear exit southeast out of the encampment and follow it to the ledge that overhangs above the Dociu Waypoint. The rich vein lies there.

Diessa Plateau There can be at least 2 rich iron veins.

Rich Iron 1) 2) 3) 4)

*Permanent* [Oldgate Waypoint] Go northwest to the Silex Castrum POI. *Possible* [Oldgate Waypoint] Go west to the ruins where you can see this rich vein from the waypoint. *Possible* [Breached Wall Waypoint] Go southwest, along the wall and up the stairs at the beginning of the JP. *Possible* [Butcher’s Block Waypoint] Go northwest into the Borrows of Moldedavia, and then enter a tunnel to the northeast. Following the tunnels, you can find the rich vein a bit west of the Bloodcliff Waypoint (but you can’t reach it from that side, of course). Note that you can see this vein by first going northwest of Bloodcliff Waypoint, where there might be a differently located but very nearby vein.

5) *Possible* [Bloodcliff Waypoint] Go immediately west and then north to the nearby skill point. At the northwest of the area there can be a rich vein. This is on the opposite side of the wall from the vein that might be located just west of it.

There can be two rich silver veins.

Rich Silver 1) *Permanent* [Blasted Moors Waypoit] At the top of the JP located just northeast of the waypoint.

2) *Possible* [Blasted Moors Waypoint] Go through the ruins just north of the waypoint, and continue to the other structure further northwest. The rich vein lies in this structure, which is fairly equidistant between the other nearby waypoints.

3) *Possible* [Incendio Waypoint] Travel to the far northeast corner, just above the Font of Rhand portal.

Rich Copper

Blazeridge Steppes There can be two rich iron veins.

Rich Iron 1) *Permanent* [Behem Waypoint] Go east from the waypoint through the gorge filled with canyon spiders. At the east end of that gorge, you can find a secret area that serves as the starting point for the JP. Jump down into the water, and then swim to the shore where the rich vein is guarded by a few oozes.

2) *Possible* [Behem Waypoint] Go east, along the path and then south to the rich vein hosted by a griffin aerie.

3) *Possible* [Guardian Stone Waypoint] Go immediately east of the waypoint.

4) *Possible* [Guardian Stone Waypoint] Located northeast of on an overhanging ledge. Go north first, to the northern side of the overhang and then come down south upon the rich vein.

There can be two rich gold veins.

Rich Gold 1) *Possible* [Brandview Waypoint] Go east of, into the river where a Salamander Drake Broodmother guards the rich vein.

2) *Possible* [Behem Waypoint] Located at the very top of the Behem JP. Go east from the waypoint through the gorge filled with canyon spiders. At the east end of that gorge, you can find a secret area that serves as the starting point for the JP. Instead of jumping down the sides of the pit, access the platform in the middle where the rich vein is.

3) *Possible* [Splintercrest Fort Waypoint] Travel northeast along the river to its end. A bit southeast of the vista there, you’ll find a small nook with a Veteran spider guarding the vein. You can also get here by going south of the permanent rich iron vein located just north, through the waterfall and into the caves.

4) *Permanent* [Terra Carorunda Waypoint] Go northeast and enter the JP area. It is unnecessary to complete the JP, just get to the entrance of it and you’ll see it in the area to the north, guarded by a Veteran boar.

5) *Possible* [Behem Waypoint] Located at the very bottom of the Behem JP. Go east from the waypoint through the gorge filled with canyon spiders. At the east end of that gorge, you can find a secret area that serves as the starting point for the JP. Jump all the way down into the water and swim to the bottom of the water.

Fields of Ruin There can be two rich iron veins.

Rich Iron 1) *Permanent* [Helliot Mine Waypoint] Located just south of the waypoint, on top of the structure. Go north then turn east and then south to find a slope up to the top of the mound where the vein is.

2) *Possible* [Tyler’s Bivuoac Waypoint] Go southwest into the griffon den.

3) *Possible* [Fangfury Watch Waypoint] Go southeast to the slope leading up to the Axedrag Cut hilltop. There is a cave there with some black bears in it guarding a rich vein.

4) *Possible* [Fangfury Watch Waypoint] Go southeast to the canyon between two cliffs. At the eastern end, turn north into the cave with some Separatist rebels, where a rich vein is guarded.

5) *Possible* [Fangfury Watch Waypoint] Go southeast to the canyon between two cliffs. At the eastern end, turn south into the cave with river drakes. Continue south to the area with breeze riders overlooking the river from a small ledge where the rich vein is located.

6) *Possible* [Ogre Road Waypoint] Far to the southeast in the corner. The rich vein is located above the text “Wildin Narrows” on the big map.

7) *Possible* [Rosko’s Campsite Waypoint] Go a little ways west of the waypoint.

There can be two rich silver veins.

Rich Silver 1) *Possible* [Rosko’s Campsite Waypoint] Go east of the waypoint, through the small camp, and then turn northeast to reach an area guarded by spiders where this rich vein lies (guarded by a Veteran).

2) *Possible* [Helliot Mine Waypoint] Go west of the waypoint. The rich vein lies on the western side (at the bottom) of the mound.

3) *Possible* [Vulture’s Waypoint] Go southeast to the small mountain just south of the small lake. The rich vein lies on the southern side of the mountain.

4) *Possible* [Vulture’s Waypoint] Go northeast a little ways to the small mountain.

There can be one rich gold vein.

Rich Gold 1) *Possible* [Fangfury Watch Waypoint] Go southeast to the canyon between two cliffs. At the eastern end, turn south into the cave with river drakes. Continue southeast to an area guarded by shadow imps, including a veteran, and you’ll find this rich vein.

Gendarran Fields There can be at least two rich iron veins.

Rich Iron 1. *Permanent* [Icegate Waypoint] Go northwest into the troll caves. The rich vein is guarded by an Elite spider on the opposite end of the tunnels, near the vista.

2. *Possible* [Icegate Waypoint] Go northwest into the troll caves. The rich vein is located near the vista, just north of the permanent vein nearby.

3. *Possible* [Brigantine Waypoint] Go south of, up the slope to the vista, where the rich vein is located nearby.

4. *Possible* [Brigantine Waypoint] Go south of, up the slope to the vista, where the rich vein is located nearby.

This is a distinctly different location than the previous one, but they both very near the vista.

5. *Possible* [Provern Shore Waypoint] Go east along the mountain ridges towards the Vigil Keep. Keep north (up) along the slopes to the base of the Vigil Keep walls where the rich vein is located near some Rams and Longhorn Sheep.

6. *Possible* [Talajian Waypoint] Located inside the Centaur caverns, go southwest to find the mouth of the cave and make your way towards the Ambush Camp POI. Once there, find a ramp to the shelf where the vein is located.

7. *Possible* [Stoneguard Gate Waypoint] Go east of, to the entrance of a cave that cuts up the middle of the mountain there.

There can be at least two rich silver veins.

Rich Silver 1. *Permanent* [Icegate Waypoint] Located east of the waypoint, you’ll have to follow the path a bit north, and then divert to the east when you can, into an area infested with Ice Elementals, including a veteran.

2. *Possible* [Icegate Waypoint] Go west, dropping down into the bowl with Ice Elementals. The rich vein is right there.

3. *Possible* [Vigil Keep Waypoint] Go west, dropping down the cliff side safely, and head into the river. The rich vein is located near the dam, at the northern end of the river.

4. *Possible* [Stoneguard Gate Waypoint] Go east to the inside of the tunnel that cuts up the middle of the mountain there.

Harathi Hinterlands There can be at least two rich iron veins.

Rich Iron 1) *Permanent* [Demetra Waypoint] Located at the Martyr’s Tomb POI. Go west, then turn north to enter the ruins, making your way through a small army of ghosts.

2) *Possible* [Cloven Hoof Waypoint] Follow the path east and then south to the War King’s Greatcamp POI. Located south of the POI is the rich vein.

3) *Possible* [Recovery Camp Waypoint] Located at the Confinement Camp POI. You can get there by going southwest of Recovery Camp Waypoint or northeast of Faun’s Waypoint.

Rich Gold 1) *Permanent* [Cloven Hoof Waypoint] Follow the path east and then south to the War King’s Greatcamp POI. The rich vein is located right at the POI. 2) *Possible* [Barricade Camp Waypoint] Located far to the northeast inside the Hidden Ourobon caves. You’ll have to go through the nearby camp (passing underneath the nearby vista there), progressing your way to the northeast. Enter the Hidden Ourobon caves and delve further north to the second part of the cave, where you’ll see the vein on your mini map.

Kessex Hills There will be two rich iron veins.

Rich Iron 1) *Possible/Permanent* [Cereboth Waypoint] Go north of the waypoint, dropping down the cliffs at the waterfall to find a cave that doubles back south, running beneath, and slightly west of the waypoint. You can avoid having to destroy the targetable rock barrier and use the vine as a stepping platform to the opposite side of the rock barrier. This vein is permanently affixed, but it is not always iron; sometimes it is silver.

2) *Possible/Permanent* [Cereboth waypoint] Go south of the waypoint, and locate a small hole in the ground.

The hole is typically guarded by a flock of bats. Drop down to the tunnels below and travel west along the path, and then south at the first junction where possible. The Mafic Core POI is located just beside the rich vein, and guarded by a Champion. This vein is permanently affixed, but it is not always iron; sometimes it is silver. *NOTE *: AT LEAST ONE OF THE TWO VEINS FROM (#1, #2) MUST BE IRON . IF ONLY ONE OF THEM IS IRON, THEN YOU CAN EXPECT THAT RICH VEIN #3 IS ALSO IRON .

3) *Possible/Permanent* [Overlord’s Waypoint] Go west to the heart NPC. Climb up the spiked slope, then cross two bridges to the west. Then, turn north to cross the final bridge leading to a giant tent. Inside are two Veterans and the rich vein. This vein is permanently affixed, but it is not always iron; sometimes it is silver.

Rich Silver There will be two rich silver veins.

1) *Possible/Permanent* [Cereboth Waypoint] Go north of the waypoint, dropping down the cliffs at the waterfall to find a cave that doubles back south, running beneath, and slightly west of the waypoint. Then, turn north to cross the final bridge leading to a giant tent. Inside are two Veterans and the rich vein. This vein is permanently affixed, but it is not always silver; sometimes it is iron.

4) *Possible* [Ireko Tradecamp Waypoint] Go south and follow the path east to the Eukaryan Caves area. Do not go inside the caves, but rather, stay on top of the caverns. A little ways to the south-by-southeast of the Skill Point/Hero Point you can find the rich vein.

5) *Possible* [Cereboth Waypoint] Go directly west to the mountain side.

6) *Possible* [Viathan Waypoint] Located immediately southeast of the waypoint. You’ll have to swing around to the southeast side of the island to climb up to it.

7) *Possible* [Provern Shore Waypoint] Located a tiny ways to the east of the waypoint, in a small exposed cave.

Brisban Wildlands There can be at least two rich iron veins.

Rich Iron 1) *Permanent* [Gallowfields Waypoint] Go southwest, and drop down into the gorge, landing on a tree stump (which can save you from dying from the fall). The tree stump is right by the rich vein.

2) *Permanent* [Gallowfields Waypoint] After acquiring the permanent vein just southwest of the waypoint, drop down to the ground level of the gorge and go south, and then turn to the east to an area just below the word “field” on the “The Gallowfields” marking on the big map.

3) *Possible* [Gallowfields Waypoint] Go northeast through the gorge to the permanent rich silver vein located beneath the broken bridge. There is sometimes a rich iron located right beside it, but on topside of the bridge.

4) *Possible* [Brilitine Waypoint] Go south to the Enrav Exploration Post POI. The rich vein is located on the ledge above and immediately east of it.

5) *Possible* [East End Waypoint] Go south, up the slope. Some boxes and a pair of spiders play host to the rich vein.

6) *Possible* [Mrot Boru Waypoint] Go northeast to the lake and swim in it to the northeast end. The rich vein is located at the bottom of the lake, and appears underneath some brownish/tree markings on the mini map.

7) *Possible* [Tunnels Waypoint] Go northwest of the waypoint a little ways.

There can be at least two rich silver veins.

Rich Silver 1) *Permanent* [Gallowfields Waypoint] Go northeast of the waypoint, following the path east to the vein guarded by a few Fleshreavers, including a Veteran. On the mini map, the vein appears underneath the damaged bridge, which is just north of the word “Out” in the “Lionshead Outcrops” marking on the big map.

2) *Possible* [Mrot Boru Waypoint] Go north to the norther of the two hearts, where the rich vein is located just immediately to the west of.

3) *Possible* [Wendon Waypoint] Go northwest of a little ways to the top of the map.

4) *Possible* [Mirkwise Waypoint] Located directly west of the waypoint. Go north or south of the mountain in between the swamp on the other side of it. The vein is located in the swampy area just west of the mountain.

Queensdale There can be four rich copper veins.

Rich Copper 1) *Permanent* [Phinney Waypoint] Go northwest of the waypoint and you’ll see a cluster of nodes, including the rich node guarded by a cave full of Ettin.

2) *Possible* [Claypool Waypoint] Go southwest to the waterfall and the lake. You’ll see the rich vein at the base of the waterfall.

3) *Possible* [Godslost Waypoint] Located exactly at the Bonegrinder’s Gully POI. Once there, you may need to use the type command “/threaten” to gain entry.

4) *Possible* [Ojon’s Lumbermill Waypoint] Go northeast to the Eastern Divinity Dam. The rich vein is located immediately at the letter “a” in the word “East” of “Eastern Divinity Dam” on the big map.

Wayfarer’s Foothills Rich Iron

Caledon Forest Rich Iron 1) *Possible* [Gleaner’s Cove Waypoint] Go northeast by east a little ways.

2) *Possible* [Mabon Waypoint] Far to the north of, northeast of the text “The Ruins of the Unseen” on the big map. This rich vein is inside the Skritt cave, guarded by a small army of Skritt enemies.

3) *Possible* [Wychmire Waypoint] Go northeast by east to the small nook with a handful of trolls, including the rich vein and a Veteran.

4) *Possible* [Falias Thorp Waypoint] Go a tiny ways southwest of the waypoint to find this rich vein.

Iron Marshes There are four rich platinum veins.

Rich Platinum 1) *Permanent* [Grosstogg’s Kraal Waypoint] Go to the northeastern corner of the map. A Veteran guards the rich vein just before a small waterfall.

2) *Permanent* [Gladefall Waypoint] Prepare for a small adventure. This rich vein is located at the vista to the northwest of the waypoint. To get there, go southwest across the bridge, then go a bit west and then northwest. When you are across the canyon from the waypoint, and a bit northwest of the waypoint, you will see some Black Rams. Stick to the eastern side of the mountain and hop across the small platforms which lead to the vista. A Veteran Ram guards the rich vein.

3) *Possible* [Bloodfin Lake Waypoint] Hope into the water and swim north and slightly west to the underwater ruins cave area. You can see a tinier lake to the northwest of the larger lake. The rich vein lies there between the two.

4) *Possible* [Sleekfur’s Encampment Waypoint] Go northeast of the waypoint to the skill point located on top of a small mountain. Sometimes this waypoint is contested, so use a nearby alternate waypoint instead.

5) *Permanent* [Gladefall Waypoint] Go southwest across the bridge and then west towards the Scorchlands. The rich vein lies roughly directly west of the words “Gladefall Run”, within the center region of the Flame Legion land. You’ll have to break through the walls; typically you can sneak through the walls at various areas all along the side.

6) *Possible* [Viper’s Run Waypoint] Go southeast of the waypoint, towards the skill point. The rich vein lies shortly north of it.

7) *Possible* [Old Piken Ruins Waypoint] Located in the far southwest corner of the map, next to the vista. To get there, go southwest of the waypoint and stay on high ground. The path will crossover a bit east of the rich vein before you reach it.

Fireheart Rise There are four rich platinum veins.

NOTE: USING THE “GUEST” FEATURE , I.E. MOVING TO A DIFFERENT INSTANCE OF THE FIREHEART MAP, WILL GRANT YOU ACCESS TO FOUR MORE RICH PLATINUM VEINS .

Rich Platinum 1) *Permanent* [Breaktooth’s Waypoint] Located in the hidden area to the east of the waypoint. Go north of the waypoint and look for an area to the east to divert inward to. Turning south, run through several ghosts fighting separatists. The rich vein is located above the first chest of the area. To reach it, go further south and look for a slope leading upward towards it.

2) *Possible* [Breaktooth’s Waypoint] Located in the hidden area to the east of the waypoint. Use the directions of rich vein #1 to reach the area. Sometimes there is another rich vein located right below the permanent one.

3) *Possible* [Breaktooth’s Waypoint] Located in the hidden area to the east of the waypoint. Use the directions of rich vein #1 to reach the area. Sometimes there is another rich vein located further south, next to the second chest of the area.

4) *Possible* [Senecus Castrum Waypoint] or [Simurgh Waypoint] Located right beside the Senecus Castrum Waypoint, though usually it is almost always contested.

5) *Permanent* [Rustbowl Waypoint] Go east and then north (or north and then east), towards the cave at Onager Bivuoac . The rich vein is located inside at the far back corner, guarded by a Veteran.

6) *Possible* [Vidius Castrum Waypoint] Located right beside the waypoint. The waypoint is typically contested, as is the area in general. To get inside while contested, you’ll need to destroy one of the doors on either side.

7) *Possible* [Apostate Waypoint] Located at the Atrox Castrum POI to the east of the waypoint.

8) *Possible* [Breaktooth’s Waypoint] Located at the Noxious Castrum POI to the west.

Timberline Falls There can be four rich platinum veins.

Rich Platinum 1) *Permanent* [Thistlereed Waypoint] or [Valance Tutory Waypoint] Located in the small cove directly west of Thistlereed Waypoint. The Thistlereed Waypoint has been broken by Mordremoth’s influence since his awakening. At the writing of this rich vein entry, that waypoint has not yet been restored.

2) *Possible* [Thistlereed Waypoint] or [Valance Tutory Waypoint] Located just south of the Thistlereed Grove POI. 3) *Permanent* [Foundation 86 Waypoint] Go north of the waypoint into the caves, bearing right as you enter to reach the icier regions of the caverns. Follow this path to the north, climbing an icy pillar and dropping into a pit to a lava area. Rather than continue to complete the JP, divert to the west along some fallen pillars to reach the rich vein, guarded by a few trap rock-falls and blow torches.

4) *Possible* [Foundation 86 Waypoint] Located north of the waypoint in the caves, i.e. at the Only Zulu JP. Far in the back where the event spawns a Champion Troll, you can find the rich vein.

Mount Maelstrom There can be four rich platinum veins.

Rich Platinum 1) *Permanent* [Criterion Waypoint] Located north of the Rata Pten POI, at the top of the ruins.

2) *Possible* [Criterion Waypoint] Located south of the Rata Pten POI, at the top of the ruins.

3) *Permanent* [Old Sledge Waypoint] Go north of the waypoint, to the Observation Platform XKV POI. Then go west, into the lake. The rich vein is at the bottom and middle of the lake.

4) *Possible* [Old Sledge Waypoint] Go north of the waypoint, a little further north than the Observation Platform XKV POI. The rich vein lies at a small hill ledge that points southward.

5) *Possible* [Irwin Isle Waypoint] Go north of the waypoint, to the Restless Deeps POI. You cannot see the rich vein until you swim down to the bottom of the sea. The rich vein lies right beside the POI on the map, just a tad to the east.

There is only the one rich mithril vein.

Rich Mithril 1) *Permanent* [Irwin Isle Waypoint] Go north of the waypoint, to the Restless Deeps POI. You cannot see the rich vein until you swim down to the bottom of the sea. The rich vein lies a little ways northwest of the POI.

Straits of Devastation Rich Mithril 1) *Permanent* [Vesper Bell Waypoint] Swim east of the waypoint and inside The Long Way Around puzzle area.

The rich vein lies inside the shielded area at the end. There used to be a way to sneak inside “The Short Way Around�, but that option has since been removed, and the puzzle must be solved to obtain the vein.

2) *Possible* [Dire Shoal Waypoint] Located southwest of the waypoint by the skill point. Go directly southwest to the shore and then cutback southeast to get inside the cliff sides.

3) *Possible* [Dire Shoal Waypoint] Located north of the waypoint, deep in the ocean and at the bottom of a sunken ship, in its lowest-deck.

Cursed Shore Rich Mithril 1) *Permanent* [Shipwreck Rock Waypoint] Go into the water to the west of the waypoint. After swimming a short ways to the west, you’ll see the rich vein at the bottom of the water.

2) *Possible* [Meddler’s Waypoint] Go west into the ocean. The rich vein lies at the bottom of the water.

3) *Possible* [Meddler’s Waypoint] Go east into the cave to the Reliquary Vault POI. The rich vein lies near it.

4) *Possible* [Jofast’s Waypoint] Go west, and then southeast to the area behind (east of) the tombs. The rich vein is located directly east of the Reliquary Vault POI, to the southeast of the word “Tombs” of “Azabe Qabar, The Royal Tombs” text on the big map.

Malchor’s Leap Rich Mithril 1) *Possible* [Versoconjouring Waypoint] Located at the southwest corner of the island. The waypoint may not be your best approach. Consider a nearby waypoint such as the Lights Waypoint.

2) *Permanent* [Waste Hollows Waypoint] Far to the north of the waypoint, there is a tiny island where the rich vein lies atop of.

3) *Possible* [Doric’s Waypoint] Go northeast by east of the waypoint. The rich vein lies a tiny bit north of the skill point.

4) *Possible* [Tempest Waypoint] Located northwest of the waypoint, beside the skill point. Climb the stairs of the temple and look for a tiny passage to the northwest along the cliffs.

Frostgorge Sound There are four rich mithril veins.

Rich Mithril 1) *Possible* [Groznev Waypoint] Go north to the water tunnel leading down into the Forgepits POI. The rich vein is located at the bottom of the water chute.

2) *Possible* [Slough of Despond Waypoint] Located at the Iron Horse Mines POI. To get there, go south of the waypoint and stay on the land. South of the small encampment, so east to find Dredge tunnels which lead towards the POI in the lake (beneath the lake).

3) *Possible* [Path of Starry Skies] Located south (by southwest) of the waypoint, just under the ledge where Jormag’s first phase occurs.

4) *Possible* [Dimotiki Waypoint] Swim deep into the ocean’s floor just a bit northeast of the waypoint to find this rich vein.

Sparkfly Fen There are four rich platinum veins.

Rich Platinum 1) *Permanent* [Ocean’s Gullet Waypoint] Go northwest of the waypoint into cave just north of the Nicantl Grounds POI. Follow this path to the other end, and cross the stepping stones by the waterfall into another cave-tunnel to the south. Follow this further to the vista south of the Tower of Modius POI. The rich vein lies near the vista.

2) *Possible* [Ocean’s Gullet Waypoint] This rich vein may lie beneath the stepping stones portion of the trek to the first rich vein listed above (#1).

3) *Possible* [Ocean’s Gullet Waypoint] This rich vein may lie in the second tunnel portion of the trek to the first rich vein listed above (#1).

4) *Possible* [Ocean’s Gullet Waypoint] Go northeast into the water. The rich vein may lie at the bottom of the water right on the words “Ocean’s Gullet” on the big map.

5) *Possible* [Aleem’s Waypoint] Located southwest of the waypoint in the ruins. The rich vein lies just beside the Ruined Vallah POI. 6) *Possible* [Saltflood Waypoint] Located southwest of the waypoint. Find this vein atop the mesa, just southwest of the skill point there.

7) *Possible* [Flamefrog Waypoint] Go into the Diresight caverns by hooking a tiny bit east of the waypoint and then south. Follow the path to the Brokenhope Village POI. You should be able to see the rich vein by then, located to the west.

8) *Permanent* [Flamefrog Waypoint] Go north of the waypoint to the bridge at Flamefrog Vale. Follow the creek to the west into the cave. Make a right when you can, and buttonhook into the smaller cave where a Champion Risen Spider guards the rich vein.

Bloodtide Coast Rich Platinum 1) *Possible* [Laughing Gull Waypoint] Go west and then north. You should be able to see the rich vein if it is there. The rich vein lies far below in the galley of one of the ship structures.

2) *Possible* [Sorrowful Waypoint] Located southwest of the waypoint. You can see the rich vein as soon as you teleport to the waypoint, if it is there.

3) *Possible* [Remanda Waypoint] Go north of the waypoint to the Bloody Bill’s Base POI. The rich vein lies right at the POI. 4) *Permanent* [Mournful Waypoint] Located northeast of the waypoint. Go northwest to find the entrance to the cave system. Follow the path to the Glorious Drill POI. Then continue northeast and then make a figure eight back to the southwest along that path. Continuing along the path, you’ll begin to see blood oozes and the rich vein, which may be guarded by a Champion.
