Day 1
If you've arrived by car, please utilise the designated visitors' parking spaces located at the front of the building on your first day.
Once you reach the front door, press the HR button to gain entry. A member of the team will be there to greet you and take you to your new work area.
Expect a personalised tour of your workspace, and the chance to meet your new colleagues. We believe in fostering a supportive environment, and your manager will help you get acquainted with your new team.
There has been a production plant on this site since 1955! Dallow and Lambert acquired the green field site and moved their already 40 year established business to Thurmaston.
What to wear - Office
At our office, we embrace a business casual dress code, which allows for a comfortable yet professional atmosphere. We encourage you to express your personal style within these guidelines, keeping in mind the importance of maintaining a polished and respectful appearance. Additionally, your safety is our priority, and we provide all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for your role. On your first day, you will receive the appropriate PPE, and our team is always here to assist with any questions or concerns you may have.
Clocking In and Out
Our clocking system uses biometric fingerprint recognition. Upon commencement with the Company the HR Department will arrange to set up a profile for each employee.
For payroll and health and safety requirements it is vital that all employees clock in and out of site for every occasion they go outside of the site gates, failure to do so will be taken very seriously.
You will be issued with a site access card with your photograph on it. Please always wear this as it as a visible from of ID for all our colleagues when on site.
The intricate patterns and ridges on our fingertips develop in the womb and remain unchanged throughout our lives, making each person's fingerprints truly one-of-a-kind.
Breaks
Lunch break is generally 30 minutes.
Don’t worry if you forget your sandwiches! Within a 5–10-minute stroll, you'll find a variety of local amenities for a quick lunch break. Walkers, Asda, Tesco Express, Londis, and Sainsbury's are all close by, offering plenty of options. If you're up for a short drive, Thurmaston Shopping Centre is just 1.8 miles away, where you can visit M&S Food, Starbucks, or pick up a takeout from McDonald's or Pizza Hut.
Just don’t forget to clock out when you leave site and in when you return.
Facilities on site
Sufficient storage will be provided for your personal belongings on your first day. It is the responsibility of employees to ensure the safe storage of personal property.
Fully stocked vending machines for hot & cold drinks and snacks are available for all colleagues to drink in the Canteen. They accept cash only. The consumption of food is not permitted on the shopfloor and only drinks in closed cups are allowed. The canteen has fridge/freezers, microwaves and hot and cold water for everyone's use. Notice boards in the canteen and about the site will keep you up to date with Company news.
Table tennis has the Guinness World Record for the longest rally in history. The record was set during a match between two Swedish players, Daniel Iveson and Carl Söderlund, in 2014. The incredible rally lasted for a staggering 8 hours, 40 minutes, and 5 seconds,
Parking Facilities
If you are travelling by car, we have ample free parking space on site. On your fist day please park in the visitors' bays at the front and we will show you where to park on day 2.
For cyclists, we have a secured bike shed which we will give you the code to on arrival. To ensure extra security, it’s a good idea to bring your own chain to lock your bike to the rails within the shed.
Pay and Pay Slips
For our monthly paid colleagues, you can expect your funds to arrive on the 15th of each month, covering the current month—two weeks in advance and two weeks in arrears. If the 15th falls on a weekend the payment be made on the last working day before.
Your electronic payslips will be ready at the following link: https://ciqss.co.uk/donaldson
An email will be sent to you before your first pay day advising you of your Cintra Login details.
If you feel there are any issues with your pay, please speak to your line manager in the first instance.
The average pay packet in 1955 when Dallow and Lambert traded would have been between £5-10 per week, that’s £260-£520 per year!

Our fire alarm is tested weekly, you will receive an email or message about it if its due to be tested that day stating the exact time it will alarm.
At all other times, if the alarm sounds, leave the building by your nearest exit and head to your fire assembly point (as given to you in your H&S Induction).
