The Bike Shoppe, the City of La Crescent, La Crescent Police Department, Houston County Public Health, and La Crescent-Hokah Community Education have organized this fun event for children to bring their bikes to as we kick off summer! Children will go through stations to get their bike and helmet checked over, traverse the safety demonstration course, learn proper biking etiquette, and enter to win prizes!

Cookie Decorating With Ruby June Sweets Join Melissa, the owner of Ruby June Sweets, for an evening of decorating cookies!

This is a guided sugar cookie decorating class that is Beach themed in June and Autumn themed in September. Cookie Kits include: 6 cookies to decorate and 4 icing colors. This is a fun class to do with your family! All ages are welcome.

Future Lancers Wrestling Camp

Girls & Boys Grades K-6 Head football coach Terry Donovan, his staff, and the high school Lancer players will lead this exciting opportunity to get ready for FOOTBALL! The camp provides a great experience for kids to practice skills and play a variety of games and activities all while having fun! Players need tennis shoes, a water bottle, and lots of Lancer team spirit!

Girls & Boys Grades 1-6 The Lancer high school wrestling team and coaches, as well as Mat Club Youth coaches, are once again teaming up to bring young wrestlers the chance to sharpen their grappling skills! The young wrestlers will have a chance to learn and refine basic skills and fundamentals of the sport, as well as sportsmanship and the importance of a team. Camp Kids On Stage!

A dynamic youth program to introduce our youngest community members to the world of theater!

Community Education and Appleseed Community Theater have teamed up once again to bring this unique experience to kinds ranging in age from entering first grade though entering ninth grade.

This Summer, participants will present the musical School House Rock!

Students will participate in a three week immersion program learning both basics of theatre, common terminology, and will get started with learning about the production.

Next, students will learn about the audition process, and then will audition for their parts in the show. Class time will then focus more specifically on learning the script as well as the music.

Students will be divided into smaller groups by age. Students will meet daily for rehearsals from 1:00pm - 4:00pm.

A team from Appleseed Community Theatre, high school theatre students, musicians, choreographers, Community Education staff and more will all be assisting with this program!

All students will receive a Camp Kids on Stage T-shirt, their own script book, two show tickets, a DVD of the show and online access to professional photo gallery! **This year, daily rehearsals will be at the Elementary School Mezzanine and classrooms, due to ongoing HVAC work at the Secondary School. Location of performances will be announced in August, based upon HVAC project progress.

La Crescent-Hokah Community Education Wild Adventures Book Club With Mrs. Sebo | Grades 3 - 5 Explore nature with “The Wild Robot” and Mrs. Sebo! Participants going into grades 3-5 will read The Wild Robot during book club and have some outside reading to do as well. We will be exploring area parks while enjoying our book. Explore the Driftless Outdoor Adventure Camp 2024 Grades 3-5 Experience our area in a new, adventurous way! Maseray Bangura will lead four outdoor adventures during this camp. Participants should be prepared for exploration by wearing closed toed shoes and sunscreen and by bringing plenty of water.

They should also pack a sack lunch for a picnic at the end of each exploration. A detailed itinerary and description of drop off and pick up location will be sent to all participants. Space is limited!

Camp Decorah Outdoor Adventure Youth Day Camp In La Crescent!

Boys and Girls in Grades 1-5 Girls and boys entering grades 1-5 are invited to join the Camp Decorah staff for the outdoor adventure camp on Thursday, August 1st at the La Crescent- Hokah Elementary school! Camp Decorah is a fully accredited Scout Summer camp located near Holmen, Wisconsin.

Activities for registered youth Grades 1 & 2 will include: Archery, nature craft, and field games.

Activities for grades 3-5 will include: Archery, First Aid, Knot Tying, team building & program solving games. Students should bring a water bottle and wear sunscreen.

{YEL!} Fencing Summer Camp Grades 2- 12 Fencing appeals to those athletes we label as “intellectual athletes.” This type of athlete enjoys computers, video games, maybe engineering, but hasn’t found “their sport” yet. Fencing also appeals to athletes that have been in more traditional sports, but have found that they are looking for something new, unique…and that has swords! Safety is our first priority. We supply safety swords, protective masks, chest plates and jackets, in a high-octane, inclusive environment.
