Pangea Project

ARTIST STATEMENT & FINAL OUTCOME After reading the brief and doing my research, I decided to take the idea of “the air in me is the air in you” as to mean that we all share the air, and air doesn’t care about borders. Air pollution can travel much farther distances than I think most people realize and it doesn’t matter how much you try to clean your air if the air around you isn’t of the same quality. Pangea helps represent the world before it separated, and before we thought that separating lands into areas with borders also separated issues. If the world realized that they need to tackle the issue of air pollution as one, then the air would be in a much better state. The saying “two brains are better than one” has always proven true, and if we put all of our efforts into one, then our chances of figuring out a solution increases in due proportion. A poster seemed like an appropriate starting point, as it’s easy to get the point across in multiple ways, and you can put it everywhere. Most people are visual, so giving them something nice to look at will draw in their attention, and once you start reading it, you realize the situation behind the poster.
