01 IMAGO AMPHITHEATER
The 2023 Design Build class embarked on the task of designing an amphitheater for MedCamps of Louisiana. The Imago Amphitheater houses many camp activities from ceremonies to talent shows, and was inspired by the campers’ transformative journey of leaving home for the first time and growing as they experience the camp activities that MedCamps has to offer. The amphitheater celebrates this transformation with the twisting nature of the two roofs that appear to be breaking open as one approaches. This gives way to the amphitheater’s namesake: Imago, the stage when a butterfly breaks out of its cocoon. The amphitheater stands not only as a functional space but also as a testament to the profound impact of the camp experience, offering a tangible representation of growth and resilience.

02 BIOGENERATOR VENTURES RESEARCH FACILITY
The Biogenerator Ventures Research Facility is a research and office space for the start-up incubator, Biogenerator Ventures. Biogenerator Ventures invests in start-ups that specialize in both agricultural and healthcare research in order to produce more food sustainably and provide groundbreaking healthcare research. Thus, this building will embody agricultural and health goals and well-being by incorporating plenty of green space both interior & exterior, incorporating natural ventilation systems for comfort, and daylighting strategies to make the building bright and open. The building also houses ample research, workshop, and rooftop farming spaces for specialized research, while also keeping a flexible group office that can change as the needs of different start-ups change.

03 NATIVE HERITAGE & CONSERVATION CENTER
Alaska’s remote location near the Arctic Circle often means it lacks many amenities found in the contiguous U.S. Despite these challenges, Alaska has supported diverse vegetation, wildlife, and indigenous people for centuries. However, oil discoveries now threaten up to 60% of its land, risking the loss of species and the displacement of native populations across all regions: Arctic, Southcentral and Interior, Southwest, and the Inside Passage.
To combat this, my studio partner and I proposed a Native Heritage & Conservation Center. This center will preserve and celebrate Alaska’s native cultures and track environmental changes. Open to the public, it will offer educational programs and exhibits featuring native artifacts, art, and performances. By educating and celebrating Alaska’s native people, wildlife, and nature, we aim to inspire efforts to protect Alaska’s and the broader U.S. wilderness.
The ARCH 415 studio concentrated on urban planning, assigned to design a 14-acre plot on the Berkley Riverfront adjacent to a future streetcar stop and the KC Current soccer stadium. Enthralled by the energy of downtown hubs such as the River Market and Country Club Plaza, and captivated by Kansas City’s rich art scene, I sought to infuse our project with the city’s vibrant spirit. The Kansas City Art Technology Center strives to breathe new life into the Berkley Riverfront. This center serves as a haven for local artists, offering space for creation, collaboration, and the exploration of cutting-edge art technologies. It acts as a nexus where art intersects with science, technology, and engineering, fostering innovation and creativity.
