Question everything. GRADUATE-LEVEL EXPERIENCE At St. Edward’s, students conduct research typically reserved for graduate-level studies. These research opportunities allow you to study new subjects of interest and connect with your passions and purpose.

TAKE A HANDS-ON APPROACH TO PROBLEM SOLVING. Research opportunities take learning beyond the traditional classroom assignment. Our students have: • Pursued biology research in our state-of-the-art science labs and in the field at nearby Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve — a multifaceted ecosystem that is part of St. Edward’s • Used forensic science to solve a mock crime, complete with crime scene, witnesses, investigators and a victim • Researched and developed valid business plans for actual local and international companies • Delved into psychology research using our cutting-edge biofeedback technology and observational labs to analyze the behavior of real test subjects • Exhibited their innovative costume and technology designs at a theater symposium and won top honors • Photographed life in a small Texas town and had their photos acquired by the Smithsonian Institution

Founded by the Congregation of Holy Cross more than a century ago, St. Edward’s University is a welcoming Catholic community that serves students of all ages, backgrounds, cultures and beliefs. You’re within quick walking distance of our library, fitness center, two dining halls and coffee shops, your classes and your club meetings. On any given day, you’ll see students studying and soaking up the Texas sun, relaxing between classes under the shade of the great Sorin Oak, or promoting a student event by the Ragsdale Plaza fountain. When night falls and the Austin skyline lights up, life on campus picks up, too. Students gather in The Huddle for late-night Tex-Mex food and jam sessions. Student musicians perform jazz, swing and acoustic numbers at Meadows Coffeehouse. And events from pancake dinners to concerts to open-mike poetry nights draw crowds throughout the year.

Experience St. Edward’s for yourself. SEEING IS BELIEVING See what St. Edward’s is like and explore Austin. All campus visit programs are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

CAMPUS TOURS Current students introduce you to the hilltop on a walking tour and share their perspectives on campus life. You can also schedule a meeting with an admission counselor to ask questions and help us get to know you. Tours and counselor meetings are available on weekdays and select Saturdays.

STAY OVERNIGHT Attend a class, meet with a professor, eat in the dining hall and stay overnight in a residence hall with a student host. These visits are an ideal way for high school seniors to try on life as a St. Edward’s University student. Please schedule your visit at least two weeks in advance.

SENIOR SNAPSHOT Experience life as a student at St. Edward’s. Tour campus, attend a class, meet professors and learn about admission and financial aid. You may choose to stay overnight. Reservations, which are required, open six weeks before the program date.

WEEKEND VISIT We offer student-led tours and counselor appointments on select Saturdays. On other weekends, you can pick up a self-guided tour map at the Ragsdale Center information desk or the outdoor kiosk near the bookstore. Or you can call us and request that we email you the map.
