Why jewellery ? Trends

Unique properties of jewellery like the materials, style, fashion c an encourage innovative directions for the design of wearable technology and interactive access ories. ( Tsaknaki, V. Fernaeus, Y. Jonss on, M. 2015)

Connect the app to Aura through Bluetooth, insert personal details, medical information, select emergency contacts that are desired to receive an SOS text message alert

information is sent, and right emergency contacts are contacted.

White LED light appears and alerts the user that an SOS text emergency has been sent if the user at the time is not able to reach the phone continuous press (4 seconds) in the button.

In in an abuse situation, a quick double press into the distress button will send SOS text emergency alert with a link with user location, personal details and medical information to selected emergency contacts.

Rapid Prototyping

Button at the back

Easier to press and dis creet with button press at the middle.

Necklace Size

The “Matinee” size (508 mm) would be the ideal size. It is the medium size. In terms of us er experience, it would be easier to reach than for say the “Princess” size or “Opera” size.

Us ed as a pendant in bracelet . Can be us ed single handed if arm is being blocked.

Easier to press and dis creet with a button press at the middle with 15 mm 5th% and 95th%.

( Thumb breadth).

Light Placement

Light placed from above from a detail on top of the product provided enough visibility to notif y the us er without being too overpowering (still dis creet).

Spiga Chain

Spiga chain that provides a strong chain link to secure the product made with stainless steel, being able to endure a lot of wear and tear for it’s strength properties and corrosion resistance 2mm thick and length of 508 mm. (“Matinee” sizeMedium).

Cylinder B ox Clasp

Box Clasp provides a secure mechanism. More accessible for users with less dexterity Also made with stainless steel able to endure wear, tear, friction and corrosion resistance (can resist sweat).

USB port with type C connector that can be placed from both sides following the poke-yoke rule.

PMMA light cover - transparent letting 92 % of light to pass through - UV stability - resistant to light exposure. Manufactured through injection moulding, this manufacturing method provides an excellent surface parts with tight tolerances.

Aura is customizable and not completely attached to the necklace this gives the user the opportunity to place the product in other items if desired.

The same as the necklace, the bracelet follows the spiga chain link (with 2mm thickness) made up of multiple links that won’t easily kink or break , making it durable to be worn every day. Als o made with stainless steel with a polish

Final Model

surfacing techniques and further develop my existing CAD skills, the iron is great product for this bec aus e of it’s complex surface. The goal was to create the best accurate model possible.

Digit al Orthographic

Doing a digital orthographic from Rhino3D was a great opportunity to spot any imperfections and measurements to be considered or s olve in the future. It was als o a good opportunity to understand the complex surfacing better.

After doing s ome sketches models and thumbnails, the chos en concept was an interactive toy for visually impaired children that teaches braille through objects and animals.

Design Language

Very much like kano products, the braille kit it’s transparent which allows for the children to s ee the inner components and to teach children about technology. Inner components are colourful which makes learning easier and makes the product look more fun. The Design is als o simple and easy to understand.

Origami builds patience and encourages self-esteem, building accomplishment when a piece is completed. It can also encourage social learning. There is no age barrier in parents to participate as well.
