Obituary Celebrating Courtney - Written for Bryson and Greyson Courtney was born on March 22, 1988, in Tuscaloosa, AL. At an early age, Courtney would brighten any room. Her presence was powerful, and she had an incredibly infectious personality. Courtney graduated Valedictorian from Erwin High School in 2006. In addition to excelling academically, she was a star basketball and volleyball player. Courtney’s class also selected her as Homecoming queen. Courtney graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from The University of Alabama in 2010. Courtney valued her education and thoroughly enjoyed her college years. Courtney loved Alabama Football. Roll Tide! While attending UA, Courtney met Jarvel (Chuck), whom she later married.

Courtney was selected to participate in InRoads, a diverse leadership program that led to a four-year internship with Vulcan Materials while attending college. She recently celebrated 15 years of employment with Vulcan. Courtney loved Vulcan, and they loved her. She left her mark at Vulcan, where she was the President of VEDA, Vulcan Employee Development Association, and Vice President of Public Relations for Toastmasters International. It was essential for Courtney to participate in Community Service programs. She grew up at A.G. Gaston Boys and Girls Club and later gave back by mentoring the youth. She also mentored the youth of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Greater Birmingham and InRoads participants.

Courtney loved seeing the world and traveled to many beautiful destinations. She loved her family and friends and touched so many lives. Courtney would tell her parents that she knew she was the favorite child, grandchild, sister, niece, aunt, and cousin. She wasn’t kidding either. Just ask anyone. Courtney confessed her love for the Lord at an early age at Bethel Baptist Church in Pratt City. She was a current member of The Movement Fellowship Church.

On August 12, 2021, at the age of 33, The Lord welcomed Courtney into Heaven, joining her angel baby, Braxton.

Cherishing her incredible memories are her loving husband, Jarvel Noble, and her beautiful children, Bryson Noble, four years old, and Greyson Noble, six months old. Courtney was an amazing wife and mother who had an unprecedented love for Jarvel, Bryson, and Greyson.

Also cherishing their daughter’s memory are her Fathers Rodney Keith Jones (Lisa) and Terry F. Thomas, Sr., Mother, Cheryl Thomas Cutsumbis (Peter). Sisters Amber Smith (Terrence), Summer Jones, Savannah Cutsumbis; Brothers Marcus Thomas (Nicole), Blake Thomas (Jasmine), Terry Thomas II, Brandon Cutsumbis. Grandparents, Shirley Kemp, James Kemp, JoAnn Polk and Mearknee Thomas, Special Aunts, LaShonda Kemp, Susan Alexander; Nieces, Mariya, Amelia, Ariyana, Mariah, Londynn; Nephews Trey, Caleb, Miles, Mason, Noah, Riley and a host of Aunts, Uncle, family members, classmates, teammates, friends, and work-family.

We will forever remember Courtney’s beauty, intelligence, cheerful, high-spirited personality, loving heart, an infectious smile, and we are thankful for the immense joy and light her life brought to ours.
