My startup offers to give women in STEM woman-friendly housing.
In the aftermath of World War 2, the men came back home to the United States. Women were slowly beginning to thrive in STEM fields in civilian and war efforts before and during. They started to question the patriarchy and what it meant to contribute to society. In comes Adrianna Constanza, a trailblazing hippie nurse. Adrianna inherited a spacious property near a science college from her grandmother in 1978. Not having a desire to own a large property, she rented it out to many young college-aged or older women nearby. She began to notice a few things. One, women were still struggling studying and working in STEM not because they didn’t understand, but instead dealt with the sexism of their male peers. Two, her space was a safe haven for those abused. Three, everytime she recommended STEM to a woman down on her luck, she always succeeded. Empathizing with these women, Adrianna went on to accumulate another spacious property and created Curie Co-Op, named after Marie Curie. She and her daughters have made it their mission to provide safe womens-only housing after. After all, if women were one backbone of society and science was the backbone of the world, they might as well support both at the same time.

The mark, or icon is the end shape of the key used to access a specific residence or room at Curie Co-op. Due to the nature of a womens’ shelter, privacy is priority. The key is not only distinct, but incredibly difficult to clone. It is also heavy, meaning that it can be an impromptu weapon in the case a woman comes under harm. Adrianna’s engineer best friend made the prototype of this iconic key. The women engineers who resided here refined the key into what it is today.
