5A1 Demonstrate a critical understanding of the aesthetic, cultural, historical, technological, social, political or other contexts relevant to individual subject disciplines. (Knowledge and understanding) (Research / critical awareness)
This is shown clearly throughout the blog, and through the visual Journal, Especially through the early rsearch stages of both, looking in to both the fundamentals and exploration of colour within existing comics and film. The first half of the sketchbook also showcases this, exploring the use of colour, what it means to me, and how I can hope to use colour connotation to convey emotion, considering the aesthetic meaning, and applying it.
good
5A2 Demonstrate an awareness of the relationship between the theoretical and practical contexts of their own creative concerns. (Knowledge and understanding) (problem analysis/definition)
Evidenced in the connections between the essay and visual Journal, both informing one and other through the process. This can be seen within both the summary of the essay, and also over the process on my blog, through my various reflections over the course of the process.
good
5B1 Evidence the ability to use logic, reasoning and critical judgement to analyse ideas from a range of primary and secondary sources. (Cognitive skills) (Critical awareness)
This is shown throughout the blog, especially with the early ‘exploration of colour’ sections, looking at existing exemplar uses of colour, and analyzing what it is that makes them so special. On top of this there were the various study tasks that I responded to. The work of the Journal has work responding to both primary and secondary research, advancing and changing thanks to the changes and lessons learnt, thanks to the process.
good
5C1 Evidence the capacity for undertaking practical and theoretical research that demonstrates an informed application of critical, effective and testable processes. (Practical and professional skills) (research)
Evidenced in the blog posts reflecting on practical work, early visual experimentation and throughout the journal. I have applied theories, and came to conclusions, with and through process, in order to understand and work with my chosen topic.
