neously. As I reflect on the year as it comes to a close, I am reminded of all the women who encouraged me and gave me hope when the days and tasks seemed insurmountable. At the top of that list is the Board of Directors. One person cannot do the job of President of the Junior League. It takes a team. I know I would have not made it to this point without my fellow board members—Sarah, Margaret, Hannah, Michelle, Ginny, Emily, Kezia, Maggie, Kim, and Tracy—by my side. These women truly believe in the mission of our League and were dedicated to serving you, our members, and to continuing to move our League forward toward longterm success.
Before passing the torch to our 2021-2022 President, I’d be remiss if I did not also recognize one Board member in particular who has been instrumental in the success of the JLSB this year. Margaret McDonald has served as our Executive Vice-President and she is the epitome of grace and determination. If there was anyone in the League I could count on this year, it most certainly was Margaret. From the bottom of my heart, I thank Margaret for being my right-hand gal this year and for always putting a smile on my face with her quick wit and beyond accurate and perfectly timed emoji text messages.

And finally, to my dear friend Sarah Giglio…I am so thankful for her and all of her help and support this year. She is truly one of the most genuine and intentional people I have ever met, and it has been an honor to serve on the Board of Directors with her for the past three years. I am thankful for her ability to always talk me off the ledge and encourage me to breathe and think through things before taking action. I am so blessed to call her my friend and am thankful that friendship like ours lasts beyond our formal service to the League. Sarah’s enthusiasm for our League and its mission is palpable, and I know that the League is in capable and considerate hands with her as our new President. (Oh and she also knows ALL the great Peloton rides and provides the absolute BEST Bachelor/Bachelorette commentaries if you’re curious!)
I know the future of the JLSB is bright with you all leading the way. I look forward to staying involved in my new role as Sustainer and seeing the great work you continue to do in this community.
Warmly, Saige W. Solomon Saige Solomon 2020-2021 President
