For more than 90 years, the Junior League of ShreveportBossier has stayed true to our mission of advancing women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. In support of our mission, we provide training to our members, develop and support community projects, and provide scholarships to deserving high school graduates. By sponsoring Designer Bag Bingo, you will help support projects like MAGIC (Mentoring Ambitious Girls to Inspire Change), Red River Revel’s Artist for a Day, and the JLSB Red Apron Pantry. In partnership with organizations like Community Renewal International and the NWLA Food Bank, we strive to serve our area’s most vulnerable citizens. Emmy award-winning journalist Jacque Jovic joined the NBC 6 News Team in October 2012. She co-anchors the 5:00, 6:00, and 10:00 p.m. weekday newscasts with her husband Dan Jovic.
After graduating from The Ohio State University, Jacque began her career in Columbus, Ohio as a producer. She tthen worked as a reporter and anchor in Evansville, Indiana; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Cleveland, Ohio. During her time in Shreveport, she has reported from the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, moderated Louisiana Gubernatorial debates, U.S. Senate debates, and a Shreveport Mayoral debate.
Serving the community is a priority for Jacque. She serves on the Boards of Directors for Louisiana Foundation Against Sexual Assault (LaFASA). She is also a sustaining member of the Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier. She regularly supports Gingerbread House, Veterans Celebration Committee, Food Bank of NW Louisiana, YWCA of Northwest Louisiana, American Heart Association, Project Celebration, Mudbug Madness, and HOPE Connections.
Jacque loves the warm weather and warm people of ArkLaTex. In her free time, she enjoys discovering great restaurants and boutiques, gardening, and entertaining. While Jacque is passionate about news, her most cherished roles are that of wife and mother. She and Dan are the proud parents of daughter Danielle and son DJ.
