About the Mentor

A mentor is a knowledgeable individual who can assist a person in furthering their career. A mentor frequently serves two primary purposes for the mentee. The career-related function establishes the mentor as a coach who offers advice to improve the mentee's professional performance and development. The psychosocial function establishes the mentor as the mentee's role model and support system. Both functions provide explicit and implicit lessons about professional development and general work-life balance. Our notable mentors headed by our Immediate Supervisor, Mr Justin D Yu, were Ms Lyka Cepida, Mr Gabriel Fermazi, Mr Renzo Rosets, Ms Clynza Quinamot, and Mr Dan Tiburcio They are the people who helped us

along our journey as interns at SharePro, Inc One of the best advantages of having several mentors are the learnings we can get from different perspectives They share different experiences and skills that contribute to us as we accomplish their assigned task

Mr. Yu, as mentioned, the immediate supervisor, is a graduate of BS Legal Management, a Minor in Decision Science at Ateneo de Manila University in 2017. He has solid experience in Supply Chain, Project Management, and Data Analytics Career interests include Business Development, Systems Implementation, and Operations Management. Before he got into SharePro, Inc., he already had numerous job experiences from various companies of different positions in the country. Moreover, last September of 2021, up to the present, he began his career in SharePro, Inc. as the Supply Chain Management Assistant Manager - Data Analytics, Special Projects, and Systems Implementation. He implemented an eProcurement system for the Filinvest Group within one year. He established the business development department of the Supply Chain Department of Filinvest, which is in charge of obtaining clients for the purchasing group. Aside from that, Mr. Yu creates and executes process improvement initiatives to reduce cost and increase the efficiency of different technical groups of the conglomerate and generates and analyzes data of Filinvest Management to provide insight to the executive committee through data-driven decision-making.

Additionally, having the said number of mentors, Mr Yu specifically assigned us to one of them In my case, I was placed under the supervision of Ms Lyka Cepida She mostly guided me during my OJT. Mr. Yu is the one giving the task, and Ms. Cepida will be the one to discuss and teach me how to deal with it. Above all, we have worked as a team and become good colleagues, in or outside work. We are indeed thankful to have them as part of this unforgettable journey.

TRAINING PLAN

The approved training plan consists of three [3] specific activities: Purchase Order Cancellation Report, Item Naming Convention Rules, and Purchase Order Monitoring. These activities are in line with my choice of specialization, Construction Engineering Management. The student is expected to have these specific outputs/deliverables, which include System Alignment between Manual and System, Data Clean-Up, and Printing, Receiving, and Updating of Report.

Upon the start of our On-the-Job Training, we are immediately oriented on what the company is all about and the duties to fulfill. Our Supervisor, Mr. Justin Yu, did the orientation, and afterward, he let us immerse ourselves in the actual work setting. To fulfill this, my fellow interns in our department and I are being provided with each working laptop. From the very first day, I started to accomplish my first task, where I was tasked with data alignment based on their given resources. This DTR is a company-provided form to monitor the tasks we are doing during our OJT with them. With that, they would be aware of what activities they will assign to meet the approved training plan.

Over time stay in the company, we would not just be able to complete our task as per enumerated in the training plan; also, we have gained more knowledge and experience on how to behave and treat our fellow workers properly. We only not got to work with them but also learned and became part of the team. With that, I believe, we have met more than stated in the Learning Outcomes.

L E A R S T U D E N T

The internship is an essential platform for anyone seeking professional experience in a real-world setting. As a result, PSCI 4100: Internship offers students an excellent chance to study, experience, and prepare. Men learn by doing, and real life is full of various situations. We will face numerous challenges and impediments, and as we gain wisdom and experience, we should be able to support and complete the cleansing process Because we must be courageous in taking risks, experience is precious in life It is also not something we can manufacture; we must go through it It allows an individual to know and understand oneself from many perspectives to complete the internship in a real business As I engage with various types of individuals and circumstances, it helps me to regulate and refine my attitude and behavior.

Enrolling in the internship course will be a pleasure since it will allow me to apply my theories and knowledge in a real-world professional situation. My education at the university taught me about theories, but my internship taught me how to cope with realworld practice Even if it was not much, it nonetheless significantly impacted a few areas of my life The internship has also shown me where I still need improvement as a person and employee My internship has helped me to see both my talents and my flaws. According to Immanuel Kant, "Experience without theory is blind, while theory without experience is but intellectual play". Taking the internship course will prepare you for situations and work environments that will be more difficult. Our lives at school and at university cannot be compared to those in the workforce. Working life is difficult because it demands much effort, dedication, and skills; for these things,I need to be trained and equipped

LEARNINGS

Aside from that, I want to use the internship course to advance my professional knowledge and abilities. Additionally, I wish to strengthen my interpersonal relations and communication abilities. As a workforce member, I will encounter various people at work and need to communicate with them to meet their needs My internship experience is also helping me learn how to operate in a wellorganized workplace It aids in my learning how to complete my tasks on my own Additionally, I may apply all I have learned in the classroom through an internship Additionally, I can overcome problems typical in a working environment because of my internship.

I complete my internship course for 240 hours, not including holidays. For several reasons, I chose SharePro, Inc. to be my host organization for the duration of my internship. First, SharePro, Inc., located in Alabang, Muntinlupa, is closest to my home, among other options. Second, I knew some senior students who also accomplished their internship in the same company Lastly, I wanted my internship to be an exciting and memorable experience Prior to beginning my internship there, I had never visited this type of facility in my whole life The surroundings were drastically different and fresh to me. All you learn from your internship will help you in the future.

During my internship, I want to actively contribute to the company's objectives by applying the knowledge I obtained during my education environment. Moreover, as I spent my days in the company, I met new faces who significantly contributed to my experiences and taught me many lessons I can apply to future endeavors

Through the activities and re was given to complete over approximately 6 weeks, I gain experiences and expanded Beloved supervisor, Mr. Yu, to take on a variety of tas department He mainly assig Ms Lyka Cepida's and advis accept and do the task as per the other members of the mentioned earlier

Overall, the internship excellent, and I would recommend it to my friends. It aids in the improvement and development of my knowledge, skills, and abilities. It was an excellent experience and gave me good memories because I learned new things, made new friends, and gained experience. Since it offers practical trainees a variety of perks and benefits, SharePro, Inc is also an excellent site to complete an internship They give us our own spaces and numerous amenities like a laptop, Wi-Fi, water, and access to the pantry for food The treatment by the company was just, equitable and professional I have learned from different units and people I am grateful to my supervisor, Mr. Edison Yu and the department of Supply Chain Management for the experiences and tutoring. They also help me handle some of my weaknesses and guide me whenever I am in need. I think the six weeks duration for the internship was not enough for me to learn more in details about the jobs. Nonetheless, it was an exceptional opportunity to do an internship as it will help us identify your strengths, abilities, weaknesses, and more

ASSESSMENT &

EVALUATION OF STUDENTS

On-the-job Training is difficult because I have seen how the real world operates. There were rookie mistakes, training-related stress, incompetence, and a sense of doubt. However, as the days of my OJT passed, these were gradually phased out. I could work while learning within the company and on company sites. My skills were put to use and improved when I completed the tasks assigned to me by my supervisor. The OJT also assisted me in developing professionalism when dealing with people inside and outside the company.

Purchase Order Cancellation Report, Item Naming Convention Rules, and Purchase Order Monitoring are the three [3] specific activities included in the approved training plan These activities correspond to my chosen specialization of Construction Engineering Management The students expected to have the following outputs/deliverables: System Alignment between Manual and System, Data Clean-Up, Report Printing, Receiving, and Updating Thus, the enumerated activities were divided into 80 hours each to meet the required 240 hours of Training

DAY 1: September 21, 2022 (WEDNESDAY)

On our very first day, we are immediately oriented on what the company is all about and what duties we have to fulfill when we begin our On-the-Job Training. Mr. Justin Yu, our supervisor, conducted the orientation of his department and then allowed to immerse ourselves in the actual work environment. He also introduced to us the members of his team who would also be assisting us along this journey.

Furthermore, this was the day when I formally started my work as an intern at the company. For my first task, I began to do the System Alignment between the Manual and System. The provided data were sent via email and/or Viber. Ms. Lyka Cepida taught me how to do it using Microsoft Excel and was mainly assigned to guide me during my stay in the company

Aside from that, Ms. Dayana Guinto, from the HR Team of SharePro, Inc., provided us with the Daily Time Record (DTR). This DTR is a form the company offers to track the tasks we complete during our OJT with them. Also, DTR will serve as the monitoring system for our progress as Interns. Given that, Mr. YU instructed us to indicate in the form the assigned activity and the quantity of data we accomplished on the said day.

ASSESSMENT & EVALUATION OF STUDENTS

DAY 6: September 29, 2022 (FRIDAY)

This is my sixth day as an intern and my first day doing the Data Clean-Up activity. Again, I used Microsoft Excel to finish this task. I was tasked with the Consolidation and Reporting of the Helpdesk Tracker from September 19 to 23. Mr. Renzo Rosets gave me this task.

In line with this task, Mr. Renzo instructed us to report the data we have accomplished and discuss how we could develop it and the process we did to perform the analysis.

As for the third and last activity in the training plan, Purchase Order Monitoring, where we are expected to print, receive, and update reports were mostly part of every activity we did. We usually receive and update reports with the data that we are assessing. Afterward, the finalized data will be printed and submitted to the assigned authority.

Tasks given are indeed are time-consuming and not that easy As a result, I conclude that on-the-job training necessitates a significant amount of courage, effort, and seriousness It is an effective tool for preparing to work as a professional in the future It is the stage at hi h i i i d i d t l d ti ll h i ll d

APPLICATION TO CIVIL ENGINEERING (CE)

Several items could specify what I have learned to apply in the real world.

For example, Mr. Yu taught me that a manager is best described as a leader because they must be qualified to fill the position others are attempting to fill. However, a thorough examination of management leaders reveals that it also includes using institutional power, such as managing, facilitating, and coordinating Many studies have used a clinical distinction between management and authority These two terms differentiate between two types of change management Conversely, leading denotes a broad line of duty inspired by the followers who assisted management in securing the position Using authority, also known as being the ruler, refers to management utilizing their status and authority Although leadership can exert control, the zeal and distinct behavior of those who adhere to a method what results in the most significant degree of accomplishment is not guaranteed by consistency; instead, it is.

Furthermore, with centralization, a delegation of authority, and the inclusion of all organizational members, general management "headship" may be eliminated. Instead, chiefs become leaders by developing their interpersonal skills, forming meaningful relationships with their staff, exercising informal authority over them, and demonstrating understanding, personality, and creative ideas.

Effective leadership in the Supply Chain Management Department must be fair, eliminate uncertainty, standardize unpredictable or unusual designs, build connections based on shared ideals, create good behavioral role models, and maintain functional and efficient structures In essence, management is concerned with "performing," tends to be concise and task-focused, and does not interact directly with workers; instead, it supervises them, offers stability, and serves as a framework to support their innovative ideas In contrast to managing, leadership requires reflecting, creating connections, progressing, adopting a larger perspective, energizing, managing procedures, and offering advice regarding sensitivity and change. Leadership seeks to influence, impact, and persuade the organization and maintains a stronger connection with it. Supervision is more limited than management because it is more of a psychological agreement in which followers' and leaders' expectations are mutually met. More importantly, this shaky relationship is constantly changing. It should not be solely based on actual power, delegated authority, or the individual talents of employees and founders. Making a difference is about inspiring others to do the right things and giving them a sense of purpose. General management "headship" can be eliminated through centralization, separation of powers, and the involvement of all organization members. Instead, chiefs become leaders by developing their interpersonal skills, forming strong bonds with their personnel, using informal power, and demonstrating knowledge, personality, and innovative ideas

APPLICATION TO CIVIL ENGINEERING (CE)

Additionally, this internship, notably Mr. Yu taught me that there is a long history of civil engineers developing ground-breaking concepts that significantly advance the world and human lifestyles. Whenever we have a few sessions like the question-and-answer portion, I can ask what products and services engineers provide the community. Despite their diverse tasks, civil engineers perform many of the same functions. A civil engineer's typical workday may include both office and outside time Engineers may do fieldwork depending on their area of specialization Fieldwork is conducted in various settings, including industrial and construction sites Civil engineers are required for the development of both governmental and commercial buildings They are involved in the project's planning, execution, and management Site preparation precedes construction projects by assessing the area to be renovated to establish real estate borders and layout features Civil engineers then use the survey information to create a schematic that frequently includes the buildings on the landed property, other common constructions such as walling, electric lines, and fence posts, as well as natural scenery such as mountains, highlands, soil composition, native plants, and creeks.

Civil engineers assess various aspects of a construction project to divide costs, risks, and the overall viability of an engineering project. They use this method to determine whether to make changes first or to move a project to the manufacturing phase. These assessments, also known as feasibility analyses, consider a variety of project-related criteria, such as resources, construction costs, and environmental concerns. They assess a development's underlying constraints, the risks they present, and the availability of financing, labor, and supplies Last, civil engineers consider project deadlines and time constraints to determine profitability

Furthermore, this internship focuses on structural engineering in the United States and explains what structural engineering is Construction engineers oversee the execution of a building project, whereas structural engineers are concerned with dealing with fundamental difficulties in building plans. Experts devise innovative solutions to protect mineral resources, provide people with efficient transportation options, and construct safe structures such as dams, trains, and skyscrapers. The nation's failing infrastructure and the threats posed by climate change will increase the demand for qualified engineers. Because of climate change's impact on catastrophic weather behaviors, causing more violent storm outbreaks, floods, earthquakes, cyclones, and other destructive natural occurrences, municipalities require more resilient preparation now than ever
