Our firm collaborated with a reputable Real Estate Developer based in Huntsville for the construction and design of a Starbucks Coffee establishment featuring a Drive-Thru. This endeavor constituted an integral component of a comprehensive multi-building design initiative bestowed upon our firm for the inception of a new shopping center in Huntsville. As an active member of the project team, I assumed the role of CAD designer, wherein my responsibilities encompassed the creation of initial renderings and active participation within the design team tasked with finalizing the Construction Documents.

Currently underway is a significant project for one of Alabama’s foremost Road Construction equipment manufacturers. Under the auspices of a General Contractor-led Design-Build approach, our team is orchestrating the construction of a substantial 13,000+ square foot rectangular Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB). Central to this endeavor is the integration of a spacious workshop complemented by a compact office annex. This endeavor has demanded meticulous attention to technical intricacies, necessitating close collaboration among diverse teams representing various disciplines, including Crane Manufacturers and PEMB engineers. My involvement in this initiative commenced right from its conceptualization. With diligent efforts, the building is poised for inauguration in May 2024, marking a significant milestone in our client’s operational expansion.

Our firm has been engaged in a series of projects spanning various locations across the United States for a prominent bookstore brand operating under two distinct names. As the client continues to advance their business expansion initiatives, our role encompasses the facilitation of new remodels across their chain of stores. This entails the meticulous design of new facades as needed, alongside providing invaluable assistance to the client in making design decisions that resonate harmoniously with their brand ethos.

These projects are characterized by their dynamic nature, often operating within accelerated timelines to meet the client’s objectives. They necessitate extensive client engagement and feedback, underscoring our commitment to delivering solutions that not only meet but exceed their expectations.

2021 Year Located Chicago, IL

Uiversity Project - Adaptive Reuse of an Elementary school building designed by Perkin and Will.

The project explores the Overton Elementary School in Bronzeville neighborhood of Chicago and proposes an adaptive reuse for the closed off school as an Art Storage and Live-Work Housing Units for budding artists of the Bronzeville community, while at the same time providing a platform to showcase, learn, and grow as an artist.The idea of the proposal is to activate space through an art threshold. The Overton Art walk attempts to create a threshold through different types of circulation based on type of user which could be a visitor, a student or a tenant and typology of space. By extending the existing building’s central core to become the art storage, the flow of space allows public and visitable critical points where art can be displayed through collaboration.

Year 2023 Located Florence, AL

A home renovation and addition project in a small neighborhood of This project involved the comprehensive enhancement of a 1920s residence situated in Florence, Alabama. The scope of work encompassed the addition of a small library, a three-car garage, a gymnasium, and a state-of-the-art kitchen seamlessly integrated with an open porch and living space.

Having resided in the property for over a decade, the client expressed a desire to augment their existing residence, strategically positioning it closer to the main access road. This endeavor required meticulous planning and execution to harmoniously blend the new elements with the historic charm of the original structure, ultimately enhancing both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

2022 Year Located Florence, AL

A residential home located on a quite +/- 1 Acre site in the woods of Florence, Alabama.

This project entailed the construction of a bespoke residence tailored to the owner’s vision of abundant wooden elements and expansive open spaces, encapsulating the concept of a free-flowing floor plan. Inspired by the boundless expanse of surrounding woodland, the design concept was meticulously crafted to harmonize with its natural setting.Central to the design ethos was the incorporation of a profusion of windows along the northern facade, strategically positioned to capture the ever-changing vistas of the horizon. This strategic placement not only floods the interiors with natural daylight but also serves as a source of constant inspiration, imbuing each morning with a sense of renewal and vitality.

2022 Year Located Detroit, MI

Univeristy Proejct - Adaptive Reuse of Albert Kahn’s Continental Motor Plant Continental Motor Plants in Detroit Michigan was first designed in 1912 by Albert Kahn as a motor plant specifically for engine testing and manufacturing. Today the test cells, with their peaked roofs, and the power plant are all that remain of the once sprawling, structure. The attempt in this project is the reincarnation of the abandoned surviving fragments with a new soul, a new purpose. In process of reincarnation: the body ages, deteriorates while the soul moves to the next chapter, new life. After identifying the soul of the site to be testing, the transformation commences of the concept of testing to knowledge while keeping its previous function of testing motor parts for vehicles. Hence the program of a mechanic training institute for electric vehicles contains an admin block, lab classes, and a student center.

Two different projects for the University of Alabama’s ever growing campus.

On the left is a meticulous design study for the integration of a museum adjunct to the esteemed Lister Hill Library situated within the UAB campus. Following its inception, this endeavor garnered substantial fundraising support, propelling it into the active construction phase. A key directive from the Dean of the Library was to showcase a prized artifact in the university’s possession—an existing Iron Lung—within a transparent, elegantly curved space. The project also provides a platform to exhibit other significant artifacts, enriching the cultural and educational landscape of the campus.

On the right, is an ongoing construction project—a dedicated Student Organization Housing facility for the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). As the university experiences steady growth in both its academic programs and student enrollment, this new housing initiative represents a strategic response to meet the evolving needs of the student community.
